I don't know the actual percentages of those who love the C7 design and those that don't....and you don't either. Of those that love the C7, you don't have a clue as to how many of them can actually scrape up enough money to buy one. For those that don't like the C7, you don't have a clue as to how many of them can or can not afford one.
I can only speak for my self, and you should only speak for yourself.
I have been scanning other forums and blogs and the reaction to the rear of the C7 is mostly negative. Just the opposite of what you are talking about. I have no way of looking into the pocketbook of those posting as to their financial abilities, and neither do you.
I've been reading the C6 Z06 section and not to many over there are lovin' it either. As a guess, I would think that if one can afford a C6 Z06 they could scrape up enough to get a C7, if they wanted one.
Now, speaking for myself, I have owned every generation Corvette except the C4 and currently I own a fully restored 56 and an all original 63,000 mile 64 coupe and a 09 Z06. I think I can afford a C7.
With me currently owning a 56, a 64 and a C6 Z06, and you believe I have a problem accepting change? I'm guessing I own a wider span(53 years) of Corvette "change" then you do.
Since you can not back up your assumptions about those that either like or dislike the C7 with actual facts, you resort to calling those that have a different opinion from yours, as HATER's. That's very adult of you.
Other forums and Blogs? You mean from the Viper and Mustang owners?
Well, I have been scouring magazine sites (Mototrend, Automobile etc etc) and pretty much everybody is really liking the new C7. So, unlike you, I don't hold much water on what the competition says.
Also, the polls on this site clearly show much more people in favor of the C7 than those against.
Honestly, sucks to be the guys who don't like it. Got to put you in a bad mood and all. me, life is good and so is the C7.
I kinda think we should be happy that there is a new Vette to begin with. We could easily have been facing the end of the Corvette production after what happend with the car companies a few years ago. They were facing bankruptcy and had to shut down several product lines. The Vette is a low volume car compared to others. It could have easily went the way of Pontiac, Saturn, and Olds.
GM made a $180+ Million dollar investment in the new Vette. We should hope it does well so the car can live on for many years to come. If it does well there will be other body styles down the road. I think GM is trying to bring in new blood to revive sales to try and keep the car alive... They could just say F#@% it and shut the cars production down for good. Then there would be no Vette at all... Maybe its time to cut them some slack, at least they are trying to keep the car alive.

There will always be those who complain. Just wait until the C7 is out and there are some teething issues ... then you will see some complaining and thread upon thread over and over again.
Then you have the first time owners, those that never had a performance car and those that have no idea how to drive. It is going to get much more interesting in C7 General discussion
Just wait until the C7 is out and there are some teething issues ... then you will see some complaining and thread upon thread over and over again...This is just the foreplay before the wild sex
It matters that a large segment of the vette family are unhappy with the rear. This seems to be way more serious than the window on the ZR1,the chrome G.S. badge, crappy nav. and seats. If all the dislikers don't come around and stick by there "keeping my vette" statements the stingray aint gonna sell thereby forcing a redesign. My bet?The pain will subside. It's been 4 days and I'm felling better already!!
No not a redesign ... perhaps some parts may get reskined to refresh the look and to achieve better desgin harmony.
There are simply to many design components competing with each other rather than complementing or being in compliance with each other.
Bottom line it's a compelling design even if its a mashup.
The rims seem to make a world of difference in quieting the overal design noise of the car.

People would complain no matter what it looked like, people will become used to the look and appreciate it more, just give it time. It's just some of the loudest people on here that hate it, not the majority. There where a lot of people that complained when the c6 came out about this thing or that thing...now it's become a classic look.
People just love to b!tch about anything. If someone is a "gotta have the newest" kinda person, and has the $$$, they are going to buy one, just because it is such a radical departure from what we're used to seeing in a Vette. And if they don't have the $$$, then it really doesn't make much difference, at the moment, but they will likely get used to the look, and buy a C7 in several years, when the prices on used ones drops into the 20k range.
