Default Launch Control?

I see launch control as Standard on the build sheet. It does not state Manual or auto trans? I really like this option. Hopefully with some good rubber and about a 3500/4000rpm launch with auto trans we should be able to get some nice consistant 0-60 and qtr mile times.

The Corvette sales brochure has launch control on both transmissions...and standard on all three levels. Not an option.

that sucks. YOU won't be getting any 60' times of any kind. Your CAR might, but you won't have anything to do with it. one more POS thing to try and turn off. and you probably won't be able to.

Ummm I have dragged raced since the late 70s and we have always used some type of Trans brake,2step,line lock this is to assist you in getting off the line. It has just been upgraded over the years. I like to drag race and like the idea.

If it is like the C6 you have to arm it first. You can still launch yourself. I'll play with it but will not be an every day must use.

I'm curious to see how they will use it on the auto trans. There are two LC options on the ZL1; PTM 4 for street tires and PTM 5 for VHT prepped tracks. It's only available with the manual trans. Basically you go WOT in 1st with the clutch depressed and the ECM will select a launch rpm based on different conditions. Here is a GM video showing in action. With that said, the best track results are still with the system disabled.

Launch control like the GTR would be awesome on the autos to have. Hell make the autos awd too.

Sorry, all that stuff just frustrates me, have fun with it.
