Default Is the new Z51 the only way to get the MRC

Looking at the standard and optional list provided by Kerbeck's I see that to get the MRC aka F55 suspension you now need to order the Z51 FE4 suspension.

I don't see the F55 as a stand alone option anymore. Is this correct? Wonder how much the new F55/Z51 will cost?

Tom,

Yes, at least at release the only way to get the MSRC is to order the Z51 option.

Seems odd, doesn't it. They have done a full about face on that.

Intriguing, seems its a poor man's ZR1. The more I learn the more I know my C7 will be a 2LT with GT seats, Z51 and NPP. That's it.

I will wait for reviews to decide whether I want MRC or not. Z51 after all comes with bilsteins as standard.

I thought the same thing but realized they probably want to maximize profit in the first year or two. By combining MRC with Z51 only they do that.

MSRC/PTM I think would be a must have..It most likely will be combined with the larger wheels and cost a easy 4k

I imagine that the magnetic suspension will ad 2K+ to the Z51 option.
If I talk myself into ordering one, I will get the Z51, but forgo the
adjustable suspension. I have it on my 08, but have never taken it off sport.

I hope GM decouples the Z51 package from other options. I'd like to get the MSRC and black rims, but don't really need or want all the other performance enhancements.

I think it would benefit GM to be as flexible as possible about the options. Go to the Mini Cooper site and build a car to see what I mean. Just about everything can be customized by the buyer. It's probably a challenge at the assembly plant to allow this flexibility, but clearly it can be done.

MR = Waste of money. Z51 1LT red calipers and Competition seats is all I want and need. Rims are not to my liking, I am going to get Forged 360 wheels 20X11 inch vs. the 20X10, need to fill the fender more and get wider tires when the new ones wear out

Another about face on the NAV also. They are not forcing it on you either.

How does that maximize their profit? It's still just an option on the Z51. If they wanted to maximize their profit they would offer it as an option an all cars, not limit it to the Z51, or make it a standard feature on either the Z51 and the base.

Since it's not an option on the base car and you can get the Z51 without it, it's possible that GM could make zero profit off it, if no one checks off that box.

Sure looks that way. Samething happened with the cts. If I remember correctly you couldnt just get the navigation without also having to purchase a package included other expensive goodies.

Personally... I would shell out for the magnetic ride. These are the new gen 3's and much mkre responsive than the previous versions.

With what the MR shocks have done to cars like the CTS-V, the ZR1, the Z06, ZL1, you'd have to be nuts not to get it if you're looking for the most performance out of your C7.

Agreed. It's well worth every penny imo.

I think Competition seat might also be waste of money. GT seat seems to have exactly the same side support where your *** goes.

This is what I think competition seats should be. Strong side support but still soft enough for ***.
