C7 makes C6 obsolete
Now that they have come down in price $29k (NEW SS)and I have seen the new special models in person, I change my mind. I have had 3 c6s and maybe im tired of the same thing...besides the mark up on the c7s will be big too.
Camaro did it right...500hp is an increase...580hp is an increase....430hp in the c6 to 450 in the c7...laughable...same weight as the c6 too.
Pony car? Labels labels...if its faster more agile, stops shorter and smokes a c6 around the track then call it what you want...im a car guy first.. Also, I like white for some reason and love z06s in white but up until something like 2010 only Ron Fellows's was white...saw a white Z the other day and was in awe...looked online and saw the saw car for $92k...way out of my atmosphere.
And if camaro has the serious performance features (at a bargain) that atracted me to the vette then I see no difference.
One more thing...580hp and available paddle shift auto...a claim no vette model can make...thats a big deal!

Remember, its a chevy...no need to throw the mustypoontang into this..

I get thumbs ups from Mustang guys. Possibly because I nod to them. (if the top is down. if the tops up I'll wave. But not my vette wave)
Generally I give respect anyone driving a car that Matters*.

Even some pickup trucks I'll give a nod to. Providing it's a nice truck... not a new truck, but an old truck that's been customized, well.
I only get waves, and nods though when I'm driving a nice car myself though like my C4, or my previous Firebird

*Cars that matter, being Mustangs, Camaros, Old 60s chevys, Corvettes, TAs/Firebirds, Fieros, -some- Eclipses, Supras, 3000GTs, Stealths, Vipers, and a few others besides. Excluded cars on the Cars That Matter list, all BMWs, Porsches, Anything that wasn't a Supra turbo built by Toyota, All non NSX hondas, and anything else either totally lacking in style or speed or even worse both.
I could insult someone and go back and forth.
Actually the OP was an important discussion which has been lost. IMO he was talking about technology and NOT the design of the body.

All seriousness aside, I just walked out to the garage and realized that GM and this thread have finally convinced me that my C6 is indeed obsolete. Now that my kid is too big to ride in the wife's lap... oh wait, how many seats does the C7 have? Damned the luck...

"The bottom line", I didn't take the comment as putting the C6 down... I could not care less how Tadge feels about the C6 since my car has already been built and sold; however, and as many have tried to express, no matter how much better he feels the C7 to be, it was an asinine comment to make from a marketing perspective while GM still has plenty of C6's on the shelf for sale as brand new current year model offerings.
I work industry marketing events (non-automotive related) for the industry I work in and a comment like that would get you removed from all of my future lists of speakers...
