Default Is obsolete really a bad word?

A 1969 Corvette L88, which according to the "Corvette Black Book", only 2 were made, sold at Barrett auction for $562,500

I would call a 1969 anything obsolete. But do we love that car, yes we do!!!

Would I trade my 2013 427 vert for a C7, no. Is my C6 obsolete, not yet. All the 20 somethings, and 30 somethings at work told me I was nuts for getting a C6, and not a C7. Maybe, but do I love it, Yes!!!

If my C6 is obsolete, so be it, I don't care, because Jimmy can crack corn all day long!

Obviously GM has designed the correct car if the 20 and 30 year olds are digging it.
Having said that what true Corvette lover doesn't think the 427 convertible is not an instant collector car..keep it!

The people who can't afford a corvette will memorize any negative statement and throw it out to corvette owners if they dare.

Usually the critics are too scared to make a personnel statement like obsolete....and if they did....I'd just laugh and ask what they drive.

Tadge did not mean obsolete in a derogatory term but rather an engineering term considering the engineering advancements made in the c7.

As a tech geek...the c7 is light years ahead of the 9 year old c6 and so it should be.

If the c7 wasn't making the 9 year old c6 obsolete from a tech standpoint Tadge and his team all needed to get back to work and start over at the drawing boards.

In 1969 there were 116 L88's produced.

I am not aware of any ZL1 referred to as an L88. They may be mechanically the same but they are two different animals. You could retire by selling a ZL1. If you had an L-88 and sold that you would be well on your way to a great investment.

See Mecum Auctions for the difference in value..

The ZL-1, or ZL1, were engine options, in 1969, offered in the camaro, and the corvette. There were 69 camaro ZL1's, and according to the corvette black book, only 2 ZL1 L88 corvettes. It was a COPO option, intended for non-street use.

I'm sure that Carroll Shelby frequently said that the 289 Cobra was obsolete after the 427 came out.

I'd bet you that Dr. Porsche called the 356 obsolete after the 912/911 were introduced.

Maybe for Tadge he doesn't differentiate between the Vette and the Malibu in his sales approach.
the butthurt c6 owners have arrived.

face it, it's true

The C6 is hardly obsolete despite comments from all of the two star members.

Most intelligent post on this thread.

Lol I get a kick out of this thread on how many people try to put this as black or white and attempt to get all sophisticated and detailed with the definition of obsolete. Seriously people? Really? Ha ha. Whether you like it or not a new Corvette is out period. It will be better in many ways over the current model. Has too otherwise what's really the point? I love so much about the Corvette in all different years. Time for people to let go and just be happy that the Corvette continues to advance and grow. What's really the point in bashing someone who has a different year or model then yours? Were all in the big vette family here. Save the bashing for the mustang crowd lol

Tadge said the word ONE time. Those here with a hidden agenda have repeated it hundreds of times, if not thousands, in order to encourage splits within the Corvette community. Trolls just have bigger bridges to lurk under nowadays

Silly, I know. Can I play? The c-6 is currently obsolete as the 2014 vette will be when the 2015/16 is released. ----Of course I don't believe that.

It is not the physical appearance of the car. It is the technology. Just like phones and computers. Get over it and move on.

Looks wise the C6 in no way is out dated in looks but maybe skin deep it is in technology

I dig my c6 and I realize the latest and greatest vette is about to release.

Big fu king deal..LOL

There is always someone with something better.

I'm just grateful it's the next generation corvette and not some foreign jobbeeeee.

In fact I'm digging my c6 even more lately because I know the next generation is even better.

Looking forward to the reviews as they release!
