Viper kicked the Vette's behind! Darn sure the C6 is obsolete!
But in all seriousness, you can't go around bragging about how kickass the ZR1 is for holding the lap record (when clearly it wasn't racing against all other cars at the same time under the same conditions) and then get your panties in a twist when the Viper comes in and beats the Vette on a different day. All these times are set on different days, under differing conditions, with different drivers. At least the Vette and Viper had the same driver.
And with all that, the Viper barely won. Won't be surprised to see the C7Z take another couple seconds off the C6's lap time (and if the Viper isn't there on the same day, will you all gladly discount the fast time? - surely not).

Well, let us remember that this all started as a COMPARO in which the ZR1 happened to actually beat the existing track lap time. The ZR1 WON the performance comparo, with the exception of the well-beaten down interior, (though Randy Pobst actually even liked the seats of the ZR1 better) hands down.
What Ralph and MT did was take that, eliminate the ZR1, and make it all about the track record. SINCE it started as a comparo, they should have used the same cars and run it again. Instead, they made a huge deal out of Ralph's whining, bitching, and moaning and celebrated his whining! THEN, they suddenly said the first car was a "mule", when the first article never mentioned it. Pretty sad. Then they came up with a completely different car/different day and barely beat the oh-by-the-way ZR1 lap record by 0.08 sec.
If it was all about the track record, I could care less but that isn't what the point of the article was.

Exactly! And that's "the rest of the story".......... Thanks, Ox. I shoulda made the point about the comps myself. Gotta wonder why MT didn't invite the ZR1 back the second time, no? And, the .08 "gain" was by a car not even in production at that point against a 5 year old design. BFD. Who ever said it was about a "track record"? There are lots of cars lapping Laguna faster than either of those times.
Maybe we should scan and post up the MT articles, since most of those commenting on it here appear to not have read them.

My C6 is obsolete because it has a CD player. Of course the 2014 Mercedes SLS AMG GT is really obsolete as it has a 6 disc CD changer as standard equipment.

What were you saying about defensiveness and excuses in the other thread? You should really be less sensitive
