Competitive to me means not getting the job done. Nice safe answer!
Lets wait for real world testing instead drinking GM's "true believer" kool aid.

I don't think you are any different than the "true believers" you like to mock other than being on the other end of the spectrum. A little pot-kettle I think.

P.S. I personally do not believe the C7 will match the Z06 from a performance perspective but I do believe it will be better than the GS and "closer" to the Z06. Where's my kool-aid?

Not getting what job done?

We're talking about a Z51 model being competitive with a previous generation Z06 model with a base price of probably at least $15K more.

To me that's incredible considering the compromises the team has to make for a car that is still a "base Corvette".

In racing you have the ability to win or you are not competitive. They are still trying to clear outdated (dare I say obsolete) models you know.

Wow, big talker for a guy driving one of Tadge's creations...assuming you actually do drive a GS. You appear to be tuggin' on pmjs and he has accomplished so much!

Nothing street legal that runs a 7:42.9 on the full Nordschleife is slow.
A standard Z06 still comes with Gen1 Goodyear Supercars. Adding the F55 option gets you the Gen2 Goodyears. The only way to get the Michelins from the factory on a Z06 is to get the Z07 option.

Nope. The '13 Z06s come standard with the Gen2's. The you can get the MRSC with PS2s. The Cups come with the Z07 package.

The ZL1 Camaro already blew off the doors of the Grand Sport with a weight of 4,200lbs.

Why is it so hard to believe that the C7 won't do the same?

The GS is a glorified Z51. To predict that the C7 Z51 will destroy the GS is as bold a statement as predicting that tomorrow will be a Saturday.

I think those who continue to accuse others of drinking the Tadge Kool-aid (Sam... cough... 90lx... cough) really just have their heads buried in the sand and can't accept the inevitable progression that is occurring. The C7 Z51 may not match the C6 Z06 (I predict it won't but it will be much closer than the GS) but your comment is about as close to a fact as you can get when there is no objective data yet. There is no way on earth that GM would not absolutely ensure the C7 Z51 is notably more capable than the C6 GS. Anyone who doubts that is just in a state of perpetual denial because that would be an utter failure for the C7 Z51 and GM has too much invested for that to occur... and it won't.

I never said it would not out perform the GS, it is the huggers that think it is going to perform as well as a Z06. I really dont think it will be that close but maybe I will be surprised!
