Wonder what they are waiting for on the specs? I can't believe that they wouldn't have something by now. Its getting ridiculous.
They must believe C7 is like good wine, you let it sit and it will get better
What it seems is that weight is an issue and the team is busy tuning the car to squeeze out a few extra ponies to create diversion and try to compensate to keep the performance claims possible.
Is Tadge going to be there? This should be pretty funny if he is going to do his usual obsolete routine while C7 will be DISPLAY ONLY
He'll be giving his typical q/a about the C7's design and what not in the presentation room. You ask him questions though and it's such a bunch of "pc" bs.
These are core enthusiasts...people driving hundreds of miles to be there to help Corvette...not hurt it. You'd be amazed some of the dedication some of these people have. You see this 55 year old, hefty woman and she knows more about Corvette history and Corvette Racing than 9/10's of the people out there.
Give your core group a little love...sh*t GM....wtf...

If NCM had any ethics and decency, this gig would be cancelled. Not sure how much more insulting can Juechter and GM be to Corvette enthusiasts?
GM NEEDS TO WEIGH IN ON THIS because this is a real disappointment to long time corvette buyers/enthusiasts who are spending serious $$$$ to attend the bash. If both cars are there why hold them hostage? Will be canceling our reservations to the bash. Very unfortunate misstep on GM's part.

How you expect GM to weigh in without weighing the car?
All this talk about Corvette weight when you see these guys that weigh 350 getting in the car. Drop 120 lbs and TA DA....all better!
I'll still attend the bash, but only in support of the museum. I think it would be EPIC...if everyone avoided even going near the C7's in a small movement of "boycott" if you will. That'd shake'em up...haha. Wish I could pull that off...coordinate with all attendees.
TREAT THAT C7 like a GHOST! You don't wanna let me in it or touch it...KEEP IT!
Ahhhh...we can dream. That's how you get things done though...

If we are talking about 350 lbs "enthusiasts", the weight of the car should matter even more. I cannot possibly imaging anyone that heavy being able to get in but I am sure they do anyway...
Why you think the C5 seats are like bench seats...lol. No fatboys could fit in C4's.
I personally know a guy that's 380 with a Corvette C5. There's a guy that road races a Corvette close to me...that boy HAS to be 450 and not a penny less...watching him get out...it's so comical, but it's truly a shame to watch..

Since the sills are so high in C4, I guess battling the bolsters may be the easier part, LOL... I see there are no bottom bolsters on C7, regardless if sport or touring seat so I guess GM keeps the chunky owners in mind... Higher sills would be nice for rigidity but I guess we would lose a few buyers this way...

I went to an event a month ago they promised a C7 to be at. They delivered their engines, displays and a speaker who did nothing more than make a joke about hope we all got to see the C7 at the auto show. No explanation. Talk about insulting. I felt bad for the Hosts and all the people who were there for the C7. Rude on behalf of GM. Wonder how many people have cancelled going to the Bash because of this change of events?

Maybe GM can set up a sand box to keep the enthusiasts occupied? Since they treat everyone like children, it may as well go all the way.

I can't believe the whining here The Bash is an enthusiast's event...it's independent of the vehicle cycle plan established by GM's product planning gurus. Suck it up. folks...it's the way of the car biz...has nothing to do with you....be patient and you will get your dessert when it is time.
Seriously? The Corvette Bash, is not the time or place to unveil what we've all been waiting on?
Morons.
I don't think this is an intentional deception on GM's part, but rather a stunning display that Incompetence in GM's marketing and advertising department is still running strong. I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised, the same morons that damn near killed the company are still in charge of it for the most part.

Been to several NCM Bash events before and they all are a lot of fun and also good "car learning." Will be attending C7 Powertrain, interior, overview, suspension and other C7 seminars. Never been disappointed at the Museum. Will see, first time, a C7 convertible up close. Get to see and hang around with Corvette friends haven't seen for a long time.
Bought my C5 without ever sitting in one (was a great car), bought my C6 Z06 without sitting in one (it is a GREAT car) and will buy and enjoy my C7 without sitting in one.
I think a few of you are the ones blowing what we are saying out of proportion. No one is saying we want the m to debut the zr1 to us...we are just saying, can we get a little more love than John Q Citizen at the autoshow? Can we at least sit in the damn thing!? Can we get Corvette Bash close versus auto show close!
Its not about GM's product plan timeline, its about catering to your core, who are the people at the races in the corral, the people at the bashes...the people who gm has used to promote their product. Watch the races and you see that GM pays to have ALMS go into the corrals, talk about the enthusiast base, etc.
In the corrals, at the bashes...these are repeat owners and buyers...investors...
So, if GM's product planners didnt account for the core, then I call that irresponsibility on part of GM. You cater to your repeat customers and your regulars...true for every business. They are the ones whose money you count on...who will influence a friend to buy as well.

I don't understand what some of you are expecting. I got on the NCM web site to check the calendar of the Bash. There is a lot of great talks to attend. Chassis development by Mike Bailey and Jim Mero. Interior by Lucy Lahood and Ryan Vaughn. Powertrain development by Bill Nichols. Race Team by Doug Fehan, Dan Binks, and Tommy Millner. Tire Tech by Lee Willard. C7 Design by Tom Peters and Kirk Bennion. Overview/Walkaround by Tadge Juechter and Harlan Charles. Overall a pile of information to absorb. All excellent talks that are worthy of the trip alone besides being able to see the C7 and ask your questions to the person of choice.

Please make it stop.
Did it occur that GM might not have your sitting in cars in April because they don't have enough presentation quality cars built in April?
It's still early in the pre-production life of the C7. You guys have been talking about the 2014 Corvette for so long you seem to think it's a done deal and that you as a possible, potential buyer, who - buy the way - refuses to pay MSRP, be granted the privilege of access months before the first one rolls off the assembly line.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
