NCM Bash
Plan B would be to go to Bowling Green June 27th or 28th. The NCM is celebrating Corvette's 60th anniversary. They say they'll have a Corvette from each year on display and a bunch of C7s that you can sit in.

I saw the C7 in Detroit before the public did. I walked around it, stared at it, etc. I was REALLY hoping GM would give us a little more at the bash.
If it's not planned...if you're watching....you better start planning now...or I'm gonna be heated up!!! I wanna see a test mule...a clay model...something special damnit...OR ELSE!

This is disappointing. Another bad GM decision.
I went to the C5/C6 bash at the museum for the
reveal of the new 2005 C6 Corvette - April 23, 2004.
I got to really look over this corvette. I got to sit
inside it (as others), someone "pop" the hood and
everyone looked at the engine compartment as
well as the rear hatch. This was the "red" coupe.
About 30 minutes later .... other 2005 C6 corvettes
(in different colors) drove up later for people to view.
It was a really nice experience for me.
I don't care if these are "test" mules or not
"really production" cars. I am 50 years old and
intelligent enough to know that things could or
can change in the "real" production model.
People come and attend these "bashes" to touch
and feel these corvettes (yes and sit in them).
This is how people make a connection to this model.
Once a connection is made and the excitement begins ...
We put deposits on ordering these corvettes. We know
this, but apparently the manufacture doesn't.
I hope GM reconsiders this decision.
(especially after the tax payer bailout)
I wish that I had known this before I pre-registered.
I liked how the C5/C6 bash was in April 23, 2004.
I wished that those people was in charge today.
Thanks for listening.

I don't think it's that GM has a responsibility to NCM though, as much as it has a responsibility to it's core enthusiasts and followers who promote Corvette, support it, drive it and buy new models.
Extremely poor decision on part of GM to not give the Bash attendees something to go home with... I'm not asking to drive the thing, but let us sit in the sport seat at least...or see some development stuff...jeez.
I didn't think we were going to be treated as some random joes at the auto show... Everyone is adults and can be told that a car is pre-production and not finalized yet. I planned on going to this bash a year ago, solely hoping for a little C7 special before the masses got the taste... It'd be nice to see GM utilize the bash attendees as a panel of sorts to get feedback from and to gain market perception about certain details...even if in pre-production phase.
Man....wtf....

SAD TO SAY, UNLIKE PAST BIRTHDAY BASH, GOT THIS DIRECT FROM NCM, EXPECT A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE, JUST LIKE AUTO SHOW, HANDS OFF...
Just got this email, copy and pasted it here
Anthony, although we will have 2 C7s, a coupe and a convertible, at the Bash, they are strictly show cars. production cars for Capture Test Fleet won't be produced until late April or early May and the first chance to sit in a car will be in June at our 60th Anniversary event when we will have 7-10 C7s in various forms available for up close inspection.

nahh....I'm hopin not. Can't blame GM for the weight though...these politicians get elected and don't feel they are making their mark if they aren't adding new regs, new standards, new rules, new policies, etc. Even Civics gained 800lbs in the past 15 years.
Between trying to make something stiffer, while battling crash standards, pedestrian standards, etc...it's a tough game they gotta play.

monday to get a refund.
I will also call the motel to get
my deposit on room refunded.
Sad for the Bowling Green economy.
This is so disappointing
Then, Tadge and the gang are going to give their typical politically correct speaches without any real content. I know they are bound to contain certain info...but damn, wouldn't it be nice to time a release of some info two days after the bash just to give your core enthusiasts a little taste...wtf....
I'm all fired up over this...been waiting a year for the bash, now I damn near don't wanna go...

Will I be able to see and sit in the
2014 Chevrolet Corvette at next
year's 2014 NCM Bash ?
Can someone find out from the
NCM museum if this is possible ?
I cannot attend the 60th Corvette
gathering in June 27-28, 2013.
I guess that I will wait till my
local dealer gets one to see it
or wait till next year's bash.
the end.
