I guess pin stripping has gone out of style at the same time black wheels have come into style. I just need to keep up. I apologize for being old school.

I just called Chip Foose and told him to stop pin stripping those beautiful cars he builds. You think he would know better. He even went so far as using an orange stripe on a b
Ue car. OMG

I was just doing some - you know - "out of the box" thinking and came to the conclusion that if you disliked Bills idea so much, you could simply not do it to your car? Crazy I know, but its an option. You could also try not being so insulting. There's a way to give opinions without being degrading. I don't personally care for the stipes on the C7 either, but to go as far as you have above is pretty low rent. Stay classy.

CJJ every time you post you just keep validating what little class you have! If anyone on here deserves some respect it's Bill, insulting his taste is just low!

And, whats with all the ignorant/insulting posts on the C7 Forum lately? Are these the "new" customers GM wants to attract?

Actually I am enjoying this thread. I do not take my suggestion seriously. I thought the subjects on the C7 where getting redundant. We are basically down to Colors, Interiors, wheels, and the dreaded rear. ( including colors and "shapes" of things.)
I will try and do better with discussion topics. By the way I think I have the color I am going to buy down. But I am not even telling my friends and my wife ( she is a friend too). The problem is I hear critics and then I change my mind again. Not that I am weak the colors are all so good in their own right.

Thank you Blue Ox for the great art work. It helped to fuel the discussion. And a special thanks to my defenders , those who understand my strange inclinations.

Now I guess I will have to add the color of the pin stripes.. LOL..

While I personally wouldn't do the LT1 stripes I Pshopped on a new C7, I am not opposed to tasteful pinstriping to accent body shape/lines. If someone wants to do that, that's their perogative.

While I personally don't think it looks as bad (or at all bad) as some have said, I don't think GM should do it in this case, because the LT-1 is the base model and is on all cars.

In the old days it was a high performance option, and the stripe so designated - kind of like the 427 emblems. The idea was to differentiate it from the base models, not to put it on all cars............

You didn't see a "L48" stripe on the 1970 base models...........

It could work with some more creativity. Right now its out of place with the lines of the car. And I don't think it looks good in those colors. But I think there is plenty of potential for something there.

Well looks like some C6 owners did some color on their hoods..I am not saying it is the right thing to do, I am just saying I think this application looks good.

I'm all for Striping on the Pony Car set (Camaro/Mustang/Challenger), because it is something that has always been there.

But to me, a world class car like the Vette, does not need them, and in most cases, it detracts. How many world class super cars do we see today with that effect? Not many...

Personally, I did pinstripe my cars (including my early Vettes) but definitely will not do it my C7.

That said, I believe people should be able to do whatever they want to their own cars, put your name on the doors if you want.

Hey, no worse than Z06 guys plastering 427 badges on their hoods or the Z51 guys with their fender badging. At least this is just pinstripes. Though for the record, because it's the standard issue motor, not sure the need to broadcast it. Kinda reminds me of ABS badging on 80s/90s cars.
