I do not want to buy a C7 from a dealer who would sell below MSRP. I wouldn't think he was to bright, giving money away that is not necessary. It would be just like "you" ( whoever that is) selling your car for less then it is worth. Ask yourself if you would sell your car for less then it is worth? ???????
That is one of the most bizarre statements I have heard. Wes Milby (Reliable Chevrolet in MO - a respected forum vendor) offered MSRP - $1000. My order is in. Anybody who would not take that offer simply because it is below MSRP is exercising poor judgment. FYI, Wes sold out his allocations.
Gotta ask... did you have a special order for the unlisted pink tintcoat? :-)
My dealer was $1,000 which I feel is reasonable since I am ordering a car to my specs. My guess is that he might have even waived that if we worked together to order a car that he felt he could sell quickly if I backed out.
Sorry if this has been covered already. My dealer wants a $20k deposit to order my C7. This seems reasonable but I just wanted to check with the board to make sure this is par for the course.
Thanks!
They are f-in nuts I agree with others 2k TOPS for an ordered car!

I bought my previous GS 'vert from Wes, and he is a straight-up guy. But he is sold out for 2014's, and I managed to get a #5 slot for a 'vert at Forum dealer Ken Ficthner - so probably about a year out.
Ken has not asked for a deposit yet, but I expect to send one when it comes time to order the car.
It'll be at MSRP, which I believe is reasonable for a new model in high demand.

$20K!? For a deposit?! That's bologna.
My dealer wanted $2,500. That was a lot to me considering other dealerships wanted $1,000.

So you're the guy who took my #5 spot!
I bought my C6Z06 from Superior (Hendrick) in Merriam, MO.....did you check them out?

I had a great experience with Fitchner with my '13 GS, so I'll go back.
BTW, when I was selling for The VetteNet, we would occasionally hear about dealers asking for non-reundable deposits - it was usually for "unconventional" combinations that might be difficult to resell if a buyer backed out -- like Bowling Green Metallic paint with a Torch Red interior, or Millennium Yellow over Torch. Even Magnetic Red over Torch was pretty horrible.
GM is now charging extra for "non standard" combinations, iirc.
