It's your $$$. Pay full rip and wake up the day after you took delivery to find out it's worth $10k less!
Does your obvious irritation with those paying MSRP come from you not wanting to pay MSRP, and those that do are making it less likely you will be getting your new C7 at $10k off MSRP?
And let me guess, you are probably the same person that complains about the huge discounts offered on new C6's thus murdering the resale value on yours?
I could give a rats *** about resale....it's a car that depreciates and yes I look or wait for deals....sorry I didnt have a golden spoon in my *** when I was born but MSRP or higher does not make any sense other than being able to brag to the local Vette club you were a first buyer! Car is gonna still drop like a rock the day after the buy!

I agree. I remember when the new '08s came out with the LS3 they were going for $39,995.
Now i don't know what happened when the new C6 came out in '05 since i wasn't into vette's back then. But i can't imagine that it took too long for good discounts.
I paid 62k for my 74k msrp grand sport, and will pay 67k (msrp) for my C7. Do I think the C7 is worth paying 5k more than I paid for my GS to me? my answer is yes. Nothing to do with bragging rights for me - just want the most advanced vette to date.

4 year models later after C6 launch? ... Thats a long wait for a discount.
It happens with the full life cycle of the MY, they first come out basically MSRP or above, 1 to 2 years discount which get larger toward the end of the MY life cycle. In the mean time the manufacturer increases MSRP 1 to 2 times a year.
