Viper is stick only... so C7. I feel like for a car that so desperately wants to be taken seriously as a true supercar of high caliber, they should have come up with a proper racing transmission, maybe borrowed a DSG from Ferrari or something. I suspect that it is in the works as an addition later on.
But honestly, I wouldn't buy either. I'd probably be in a 911 or an Evora S IPS or something like that if I had to buy something like that brand new.

I purposely left out the whole traction control/ launch assistant or any of high end computer electronics. I was looking on the body shape, I saw a exposé on the Viper toady and the more I look at the C7 I see some similarities. But I'm still a Corvette fan, you cut my arm, I bleed Corvette. And I don't feel the old school Corvette stickler for round tail lights ! Just wanted to know how you feel about the two cars shape.
Vipers are cool, but I am a Vette freak and would love to buy a Vette exactly th way I want it and not what I am willing to spend on it. So the Vette for me. But a Viper is #2 on my list.
Not even a conversation, the new Viper in any of it's current trim levels is way more car than the C7. The Viper exudes supercar, even the ZR1 with its great performance does not scream supercar like the snake!
In any year that they have simultaneously existed as new vehicles I would take the new Corvette over the new Viper because of the flexibility of use of the Corvette. I use mine as a half-time daily driver.
If you had the choice, today, would you go with the Z51 C7 . . or the SRT Viper ?
So if I had the extra $50,000 sittin around what would I chose?
I sure the f*k wouldn't pick a Viper. I'd buy a C6 ZR1 in a heartbeat. Or I'd wait for the next level C7 and then I'd buy it lightly used.
For the price, the Viper needs to look way better than the C7 and it simply doesn't, especially from the front end. Front end and side angles look better than the Viper. You can buy 2 C7s for the price of one Viper.
Where did the OP mention price? Simple question was Viper or C7 in their current forms.
Although the OP didn't mention price, how can people answer in a meaningful way? If I said pick a 458 Italia or the C7, what would most people pick? If they said the 458, what would it prove other than I was asking them to make a choice between two cars where there really isn't much of a choice when you take price out of the equation.
At the end of the day, if price is out and there is no brand bias, it would be hard not to pick the Viper. Well, unless it was a DD which, in that case, the C7 is probably the better car regardless of price.

No, I just wanted your opinions of the two cars side by side. Now you have to understand I don't know if the Lt "Blue Devil ZR-1 is going to be available. If you get into model specific, then my question is a waste of your time. I was interested in the two cars side by side just driving them. I personally like the C7, but the 2014 Viper is carrying a big stick ?

But you are comparing two cars in two different performance categories BECAUSE of price difference. Take the $40,000 price difference and put it into a supercharger on the C7 and other work and it very well could eat the Viper. But the two cars, side by side, in their current form and the C7 doesn't have a chance nor should it. If you are asking to compare the C7 Z06 or C7 ZR1 to the Viper then it might be meaningful but those cars don't exist yet.
