With due respect, I think you're missing my point. I didn't assert that the nav unit would change during the C7 model build, my point is only that if two cars for sale in 3-4 years are otherwise identical (one with nav, one without) the car with nav would be easier to sell, though it may not fetch a higher price.
To your other point, the $100 units now have more feature than most in dash units; people typically prefer the in dash units because they look cleaner, better integration with the car, no wires hanging, no suction devices on the window, etc.

Exactly how I feel, if you had the choice between nav vs non nav for the same price, most would choose with. I personally would pay more for one with nav.
I hate messing with navs on phones, portables etc.
