Yes they go to a local dealer for prep then back to the museum.
It could be quicker or it could actually take longer.
Just depends on what is produced that week and were there are being delivered
But the museum delivery is neat!
Thanks, talon90, for the quick reply and detailed explanation. I'm definitely taking Museum delivery, so it's good to know of the extra precautions against defects. A breakdown on her "maiden voyage" would quickly turn an exciting experience into a big disappointment.
Is the third consensus going to be July 18, or is that just a rumor?
FYI, I just found out there were no allocations given to dealers on this July 18th consensus cycle.
Also remember, the consensus cycle is different from the weekly order cycle. There will still be orders input this week (the last from the 1st July consensus).

i'm very glad i got in on 2nd consensus..

So if a dealer had so many allocations from a prior consensus, why would they wait to order this week? And does this mean there will be no more orders for at least the next two weeks? Thanks.

Generally, after each consensus GM splits those allocations and tells the dealer how many they need to order in each of the next two weeks. For example, if a dealer was given 10 allocations on consensus, GM would tell them they need to order 5 the next week, and 5 the week after that.
July consensus began July 4th. The cars from that consensus were split up and ordered on July 11 and 18.
On your second question, yes, the next consensus should be at the beginning of August, with orders split up in the next two weeks after the consensus.

Ok. One last question if an option is on constraint i.e. FAY, and the dealer is allocated 5 cars with that option, do they also have to split up the orders by week with that option or could they order all 5 the first week?
Thanks.

The constraints are distributed each week just like the cars.

Thanks GM'er. My dealer told me they submitted my order this week RDHXP6 but the event code will not change until Tuesday night. I have the "FAY" option so I was concerned about GM accepting it. Also, as I am planning a museum delivery, what it the latest TPW I could have for a September 30 pick up? Unfortunately I only have a narrow window of opportunity to go back east and drive it back to California.

I can't answer you delivery question, but as far as FAY, your dealer had allocation for 4 FAY cars this week, and right now, you are one of only 2 they have going in. So you should be fine.
