For many that will cover no more than 2 oil changes if it goes by the oil life monitor.

Have 4 years of free oil changes on my 2012 CTS. First oil change is estimated at 9500 miles by the oil life monitor...or at 1 year.

2014 Corvette Stingray to Include New Two-Year Maintenance Plan from Chevrolet

2014 GM U.S. Models to Include New Maintenance Plan

2013-06-06
GM Media

•Eligible 2014 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC models covered by program
•Certain scheduled maintenance services provided for two years/24,000 miles

DETROIT – Customers who purchase or lease an eligible new 2014 Chevrolet, Buick or GMC car, truck or crossover in the U.S. will be covered by a new maintenance program that includes certain scheduled services for two years or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

“This new plan will kick off our customers’ ownership experience on the right foot and keep our strong sales momentum going,” said Dan Akerson, General Motors Chairman and CEO, who announced the plan at GM’s 2013 annual meeting of stockholders.

“We know that customers who service their vehicles at our dealerships are much more likely to purchase another GM product down the road,” Akerson said. “It’s all the more important to bring customers to our service facilities for routine maintenance to further enhance the quality and reliability of their GM vehicles.”

For most 2014 vehicles, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC dealers will complete an oil and filter change, four-wheel tire rotation, and conduct a 27-point vehicle inspection based on what’s called for in the vehicle owner’s manual maintenance schedule and oil life monitoring system.

Some alternative-fuel vehicles do not include oil changes, and some performance vehicles do not include tire rotations when that service is not recommended. The program covers up to four service visits in the 24-month period, and is fully transferrable to subsequent owners. Customers who have already purchased or leased a 2014 model year vehicle will receive the scheduled maintenance program.

Cadillac vehicles beginning with the 2011 model year are already covered by the Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance Program, which covers scheduled maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotation, most air filter replacements and an inspection for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.

I don't see in this GM release where it specifically states that the Corvette is "eligible" for the free oil changes.

Yeah, it would be really interesting if GM will cover Z51-equipped Corvettes that require 10.5 quarts of Mobil 1. That stuff ain't cheap!!

Of course I'm assuming the LT1 has a factory fill/requirement of Mobil 1? Anyone confirm?

Thank you all for pointing me in the right direction. I was able to do some digging and found that:

*It provides basic maintenance coverage that may include oil and oil filter changes, tire rotations (excludes dual rear wheel vehicles, all Corvette models and select Camaro models - ZL1 model and 1LE package cars - due to their unidirectional tires; see Owner's Manual for details), and 27-Point Vehicle Inspections in accordance with the Owner’s Manual and the Oil Life Monitoring (OLM) system. An ACDelco Diesel Exhaust Fluid refill is included for Cruze Diesel and Duramax® models with each oil change service.

*Wheel alignments and balancing are NOT covered

If you have any other questions let me know, thanks again!

Not specific enough for me yet. When it says 'eligible'

and 'may' include oil change etc...

I agree with you. If there are exceptions...then GM should list them(assuming that would be the shorter list).

Stop being so vague GM.

Had the same thing "offered" on a new Toyota Tacoma I purchased and I chose to ignore it and do it myself. Even if offered on the Vette I'll do it myself - so what about the cost of the oil. I've had too much "incidental damage" at car service areas over the years to trust them. Much prefer to do it myself - even if it costs me a few bucks.

It's really sad when GM Customer Service people are asking the forum members to help them out to find information.

No one has changed the oil in my 5 year old Z06 except me, using my 4-post lift. Once a year(~5,000 miles) I spend approximately $60 for 10.5 quarts of Mobil1 and a Mobil1 premium oil filter. While under the car, I have a chance to carefully look over the car looking for anything that looks out of place(like a missing bolt on the sway bay clamp etc).

Plus I make sure the rear tie rod Zerks are greased.

No effect at all. When you consider the factory cut on a car grossing between 65 and $75,000 they'll cut loose your 20 qts and smile all the way to the bank.

Factory fill is dexos which is a synthetic blend, not Mobil1. And dexos is what your dealer will use on a free oil change, or for a paid oil change unless you specifically state that you want Mobil1 and are ready to pay additional for the Mobil1.

I had Oil & filter changes offered to me on at least 6 new cars in the last 10 yrs. and I ignored all of them. The C7 will be my 100& 1st car that I have owned. I have changed oil among most repairs on all of them, I only had the dealer change oil & filter one time in my life. I marked the filter and when I got home I found they Never changed it !
I never bring my car back to the dealer except ( which is very rare ) to have something fixed under the warranty. The last time was when I had a oil leak on a 6 month old Lexus went back 4 times and they still could NOT fix it ! I traded it in under the Lemon law.

I will Not have Free oil changes done on my C7 if they are offered.

Nobody takes care of your car like you do !
