I haven't seen anything official on this yet, but based on the dry sump 2013's, somewhere around 10.5 quarts. 5W30 has been the recommend weight for years. Must meet dexos1 specification.

Sounds exactly right. I'm thinking ti's the same for 2014.

GM has stated in their press release that the reservoir holds 10.5 quarts.
With all this oil, what is the recommended oil change interval for ordinary street driving......10yrs?!
Nope, one year, as always.
I change out my 10.5 quarts of oil annually(approximately 5,000 miles) in my C6 and it runs me around $60 using Mobil1 full synthetic and a Mobil1 premium oil filter. I could save quite a bit by using the much cheaper dexos synthetic blend oil that comes in the C7.
But with me being an old fart that does not crawl under his cars on his back, I do have two $2,500 4-post lifts so I can stand up when changing my oil. Going take me awhile to pay off those lifts with the money I save changing my own oil instead of a dealer. At least I know it's done correctly, even though I make less than minimum wage when working on my cars.

So how does the warranty work when changing your own oil. How do you prove that the oil was changed per warranty schedule and what oil was used should you require engine warranty work.
The 2014 Silverado with the 6.2L LT1 variant lists PF63 as the filter...it also lists 0W-20 as the "recommended" oil. Hoping it's 5W-30 for the C7 like the observed oil caps say since I have a stockpile of Penzoil Ultra.

Keep a simple log along with the receipts where you purchased your oil and filter.

The PF48 and PF63 are interchangeable but the PF63 is longer. PF63 might be to long for the Corvette as it will extend down below the bottom of the oil pan, reducing ground clearance. Just a guess on my part, but the photo shows the difference.

Absolutely correct on the size. I wanted to move to the PF63 for my G8 GXP (LS3) after buying an '11 Acadia, but the ground clearance issue was quite obvious. I liked the larger filtering area and capacity. I thought I remember reading that it has better filter media as well. Certainly is more expensive (about double).
The PF63 has been deployed on all the new GM V6 engines with variable valve timing and DI; they're much harder on oil than the LSx family. Given that the '14 GMC with the variant LT1 of the C7 uses the PF63, I'm guessing that the VVT/DI may necessitate the extra filtration capacity. To enable PF63 in C7, the ground clearance issue of the LSx would have been addressed in the LT1 architecture, and I suspect it has.
Since I sold the GXP to make room for the C7, it certainly would make buying filters easier for me!

I suspect the reason for an enlarged filter is the change to dexos oil(extended oil changes), not DI, VVT & AFM. If you're going to run the oil to around 10,000 miles(vs 3-4,000 miles with conventional oil), then you need more filtering media to collect and hold the crap so the bypass valve won't be opening up at 6-,7000 miles and bypassing the oil filter, because the filter can't hold any more crap and is plugged up.

The dexos1™ synthetic blend was also in the 2012/13 C6 base model. The dexos1™ is backwards compatible so you could run the cheaper synthetic blend that comes in the C6 except for the fact that you have the dry sump engine...that requires Mobil 1 synthetic or equivalent synthetic so you're still stuck with the expensive oil changes.

No receipts are necessary, just a simple log.

The C5 was running oil to 10,000+ miles by the DIC long before the dexos1™ spec came out. Obviously the enlarged filter doesn't have anything to do with the extended oil changes with the change to dexos1™ oil. I do know VVT and AFM requires very clean oil.

The dexos1™ synthetic blend was also in the 2012/13 C6.
Did dexos1 come in the C6, or was it just listed in the owner's manual as the spec? I thought Mobil 1 was still factory fill in the Vette. Did that change?
