Default When is it too soon to place an order?

How far in advance of the release of the new model year's model, can a buyer place an order for a new C7? For instance, if one intended to purchase a 2017 --- when is the earliest that orders could be placed? I plan on giving myself a gift in 2017 --- if I'm still breathing. Thanks.

*==>added ... What are the chances of zero % financing being offered ...

As soon as Chevy lets the dealer enter your order on line. Just an estimate at this time, would be June 2016. It also depends on the last day of the 2016 model build and if there is a new model changeover going on.

That's cool. June is 11 months prior to when I would want it.
I thought my question would be looked upon as crazy, so your non-mocking response is appreciated. Thank you.

Then you would definitely not want to get your order in that early. Once production gets up-to-speed and the initial backlog of orders is taken care of, an order should only take 6-8 weeks or so (assuming your dealer has available allocations). My C6 was ordered mid-January and I took delivery March 4.

My dealership has been a serious Corvette dealer since the '50s - and has a bunch of loyal customers. He starts his list for the new model as soon as a customer walks in and says "Put my name on the list for a . . . " A good friend started my dealer's C7 list in April of 2012.

Didn't know initially the OP was hoping for Delivery in May of 2017. Thought he wanted it asap!

Good point. I guess I should realize that in '17 the C7 isn't the new kid on the block, so to speak, so the ordering frenzy that I am reading about with the 2014 may not be relevant in 2017.

That's good to know there are dealers like that out there, but I never bought a brand new Chevy so I have no relationship with any Chevy dealers. That will change, I guess in '17 ...

I want the C7 ASAP, you are right! 2017 will come soon enough. But I am willing and hoping to reach the age where I will treat myself to it ...

It will be a treat! Enjoy. As far as 0% financing you will need to see what is being offered at the time you order.
