On the C6, with the engine is off, the default position for the NPP valves is wide open at start up until vacuum builds up. The C7 is of course a totally different exhaust system. As such, I'm wondering if the valves will be in the open or closed position with the console **** set to the quietest position at start up. Hopefully, either Talon90 or GM'er will read this post and be able to fill us in.

When in Eco or Tour, the exhaust is closed on start.

Thank you. That has become an issue on our '12 and one of the reason's my s/o prefers her car on trips of any nature. Needless to say, I prefer the Corvette over her Sonata ..................

So can you adjust the drive mode before you start it? That brings up another question. Is there an ACC key position type thing on a keyless start vehicle?

There is an accessory press and an "ignition on, engine off" mode which allows you to do anything you can do when the car is but the motor is off. Sme systems are powered down in accessory mode and this takes care of that.

Thanks for the info! Can't wait for the Owner's Manual to be available so I can learn all of these tricks!

C6 key less ing. switch works the same way. Tilt the switch inward at the top for engine start, inward at the bottom for acc. mode. One can go to full power on mode w/o starting the engine simply by not depressing the clutch on the M6. On the A6, not depressing the brake pedal serves the same function.

Clutch position is independent. You need to hold the rocker in the accessory position for 10 seconds. It will show accessory and if you keep holding it will then cycle everything on but the motor.
