It appears that the mods have sifted through the detritus and things have gotten much more enjoyable in this section.

It appears the mods are closing threads constantly due to the uselessness of many of them. It also appears that there is still plenty of conflict and disparaging remarks taking place, apparently slipping through the cracks or not being reported.

Just back from a 2-week vacay to Europe and this seems a positive development as long as civility rules are strictly enforced for ALL posters. As one of the occasional "problem children" who returns fire, I will do my part to uphold the rules.

Just a friendly suggestion: anyone who breaks the civility rule with an unsolicited nasty remark or retort (which includes attempts to disparage or denigrate a particular poster or otherwise attempt to invalidate said poster's credibility) should get a minimum automatic 1-week vacation from the C7 section.

If you can't think of a constructive or polite response to a post, no matter how personally irritating to you that post may be, just don't post at all. That will be my approach anyway.

TTrotary makes some good points and it made me think to put this reminder out there. The forum has a very good "ignore list" feature that will enable you to add members to a list so you will not see their posts. You can if you want by clicking on the post in a thread but otherwise it will simply notify you that said user, made a post but they are on your ignore list. Here are two ways to add a user to your ignore list.

First, click on the users forum name. Click on view user profile. Under their Avatar photo you should see a drop down button that is labelled "User Lists" select add to ignore list and confirm your changes.

Second, from the red menu bar at the top of the page select User CP. From the menu list that appears at the left of the page (under settings and options) select Edit Ignore list. In the "add a members name box" that appears, type a forum member's name (the list will autofill with names that match as you type) and select Okay.

It is very apparent of late that the Mods are endeavoring to make a huge difference with respect to C7 Forum civility. The personal time they are putting forth to make this all happen is likely very significant.

The number one request the Mods seem to be making is to report trolls and baiters rather than starting pointless exchanges that usually become personal or hostile even with the best of intentions. All of us who care about the Corvette community and the image it projects to all automotive enthusiasts, should endeavor to bite our tongues and hit the Report Buttons. Thanks Mods!

Thanks to all for your comments welcoming Talon90, Cruiter, and Zymurgy to the forum's Moderating Team.

All Moderators/Admins. are volunteers who desire to make CF a fun place to share information, make friends, and to share in our passion for all generation of Corvettes.

At times, emotions get involved and comments are made that require that our Mods. step in to remind all the need for civility, and the avoidance of personal attacks and hostility.

As Talon90 stated above, not everyone will share equally in the excitement of the new C7, but, with ones difference of opinion or lack of support, comments and opinions should be made consistent with our rules.

In the end, we want everyone to have a good time on the forum regardless of the generation or section you decide to participate in.

Thanks for welcoming our new Mods. with your kind and supportive words

Again, some may not feel the same about the C7 as you do, for whatever reason. As B74VET has stated, report inappropriate comments rather then to engage in "pointless exchanges."

As the new C7's start to be delivered, let's all hope for no problems and a lot of satisfied customers/forum members

In the past I have had one person on my ignore list and I have noticed this, if someone else quotes the ignore persons post that post will show up on the board in a quote box. Other than that the ignore feature works great.
