Default Looking for allocation

Hi,
I finally made the decision to buy my first ever Corvette! So I go to Ed Bozarth Chevrolet in Grand Junction, CO to enquire about an allocation. They have 2! But they are selling their Corvettes at 25,000 over MSRP. Gouging jerks.

So I email a forum vendor twice, Corvette Conti, and he does not even respond to the emails. I'm sure they are busy, but no response really leaves a bad first impression. Does anyone know of a forum vendor that has an allocation and will talk to you? I'm not in a huge rush for the car but would like it in 3 months or so.

Here's what I'm thinking: VY, 3LT, z51,NPP, mag ride, black wheels, carbon flash mirrors, transparent top, brownstone interior. That ought to be good for a few tickets right? The only thing I am worries about is how the yellow and brownstone interior will look. What do you think? Does anyone have a pic of that combo?

Rick maybe the only one with a allocation spot to put you in without going onto a preorder list. He was extremely busy when I talked with him last cars coming in. Try his cell 740-739-8377

Try Mike Furman at Criswell in MD, Tommy Jr at McMaulkin in New England or Dave at Kerbeck in NJ - all excellent gentleman and CF supporting dealers !!

Rick Conti at Coughlin WILL get back with you - it just may take him a day or so - he's a terrific guy, and he'll definitely get you a car if you want one. Be patient (or try to - I know it's hard!) ... leave him a message on his cell, and he'll call you back.

Feel free to send me your specs and I'll work put something together for you. However, I'm sure you'll hear back from Rick. This is a crazy time for all of the high volume dealers right now.

I'm currently spending over half of my day answering questions from customer who already have a car on order with me because they are existing customers and get priority and sometimes following up with new customers falls behind.

VY with Brownstone? I saw a pic of that I believe from Mike Furman when he was at Spring Mountain. Did you see that color combo in person? In the pics it doesn't look right to me, but hey your money so just sayin'. I am getting the VY with the jet black myself. The VY really pops on the C7. My C6 is also a VY with Ebony interior. Good luck and congrats!!

If you just wade through these threads, you'll find one with allocation that will deal at MSRP. Don't panic.

Here are a few (not all mine) but were locked up so I don't have interior's, I know the first one is chrome instead of black wheels but I like it especially with the yellow calipers you should consider:

Here is one that was under the Corvette Race tent with black wheels:

Here is a brownstone, this would be a great combo:

Lastly, I also contacted Rick because there was a potential to do something now on the sale of my '03 Vert. He seems like a good guy that just has way too much to do during the C7 launch. His company should give him a little help. I know it probably bothers him not getting to all of his potential customers. He has been a good guy to Corvette community and deserves the benefit of the doubt (and a second chance). Since I am not in a hurry because the long cold winter here in Pittsburgh I can wait to get spring delivery, so for me no big deal.

"Selling for" and "Asking" are 2 totally different things.

They are asking $25k over MSRP, but they will most likely never sell the car for that much.

As the saying goes, "There is a "sucker born every minute". The stealership is just hoping one of them comes waltzing into their showroom.

Everyone can agree that they are asking way too far above MSRP to even negotiate with at this point. They are in never-never land.

I agree...Talk with Rick Conti. I was there today and was busy as hell. He had two transporters waiting to load C6's to take to their new owners out of state. To make things even harder, he had to clean up one of the corvettes himself cause their clean up guy did a very poor job. Rick wouldn't let the corvette leave his sight until he had it cleaned up for the new owner.

Rick, when do dealers find out about their allocation for next week? I assume you can order 10 next Thursday!

Thanks everyone for your responses. If an order goes into next weeks allocation, what would be ab estimated delivery date? I was thinking 3 months would be perfect for me.

When I originally posted this, I was pretty aggravated at the arrogant snot-nosed kid at the dealership in Grand Junction who laughed at me when I asked about MSRP. He acted almost proud that they were selling for $25,000 over.

I agree that yellow/black is a hot combo. But everybody that buys yellow gets a black interior. I want something different plus I really like the quality look of the brownstone. If you factor out the nav, the 3lt is $3000 more than 2lt. That better be some nice leather.

I must say that all the forum dealers seem like quality guys.

Now I know why I just sent a NightRace Blue 427 to Grand Junction...left yesterday and will be there Wednesday...

For my next pull, long as
NO CARBON FIBER EXPOSED TOP

JUST EITHER

PAINTED ROOF

OR JUST THE GLASS ROOF..

Those cars build estimates are late October....I have 10 but placing 4 on Monday against it....They get tagged on Thursday, pulled Saturday..in our allocation placed tab Tuesday and production control on Wednesday

Thank-you for consideration....I'll be off line today to celebrate my boys 11th birthday , twins and have not seen them all week....

Thumbs up gang!
