Well, I want to be clear. I did not develop the software. I had a chance to work with it early and get involved in some of the documentation and training materials.
In the testing that I did, I give the nod to the iPhone. It will be compatible with pretty much all smartphones that have USB connectivity. Further, for just streaming, the bluetooth audio works very well and as a last resort, anything you have with a headphone out jack (3.5mm) the auxiliary connection will get your music from your phone or device and out the speakers of the system. There is a wide range of compatibility and pretty much a method to suit all.
Is there an iPod connection? Not just USB, but an actual iPod connector? (I guess I can just use the Apple-provided USB-->iPod cord)
Anyway just curious. I have an aftermarket NAV system that has an actual cable. And I'm one of the rare ones that has a non-phone old-school iPod Classic.
Okay. I'm rather new to this MyLink stuff. Currently driving a 2014 Silverado rental and I linked my iPhone as I was wanting to see some of the things I could look forward to in the C7. While I have no problems with the phone capabilities (other than no Text support), MP3 playback is fine, I thought there'd be more control from the vehicle to the phone? I can see all my songs on the vehicle's screen, and if I connect it though the USB port, it will also show the album covers, but I cannot control the phone with either. NO FF, PLAY, RR, SKIP or anything. Is this normal? Are there different "levels" of MyLink?
Apple......the company almost went out of business the last time a Steve Jobs left. Guess what folks.......this time he ain't coming back. They have already started their long downward spiral. Steve Jobs was mad scientist brilliant; but without him constantly pushing the envelope and innovating they are just an overpriced tech company.
I just hope I can stream a nav app from my Galaxy S4 to the Mylink car screen because I decided againt $795 just to add built in oem nav functionalty. I heard its possible with Mylink so hopefully that proves true. Otherwise I can use my Galaxy phone screen for nav. Luckily it's not an iPhone because it would be too hard to see on those tiny screens.

There's a nav app that links with a mylink app. But it's not a screen streaming app. It simply uses your phone for the data connection and input.
