Any thoughts on which type of smartphone will have the best compatibility with the new C7? Thinking like being able to navigate the phones functions and stored data(music, phone #'s, etc...) though the cars built in systems on the steering and touch screens.

Bluetooth pretty much syncs everything these days. I expect them all to work well.
Perhaps you should tell that to Talon 90 (Paul) on the forum whom developed the software for the Stingray and said iOS devices will have a much greater degree of functionality compared to crap sung and malware ridden android... Is your moronic post the result of feelings of inferiority over your crappy device?

Wow... SOMEONE is sensitive about their iPhone. It's OK... One day you'll graduate to a real phone with more than one button.
I was joking about it not working with the iPhone. But I see where you're thinking.
BTW, my phone is still rated as a better all around phone than the iPhone 5 by ALL of the magazines and reviewers. (Weird, right? An Android? And an HTC no less.)
And why would my phone have malware and such? And why would an iOS device have more functionality?

I posted this in another thread, but I am reposting here as this might be a more appropriate place.
I love the Valentine One radar detector. I have exclusively used this radar detector for many years and it is saved my butt many times.
Valentine now has a Bluetooth accessory for their radar detector which can transmit a lot of bogey information to their app written exclusively for the iPhone, iPad and Android.
Wouldn't it be nice if that app were adapted for MyLink, similar to Pandora, making the information show up on your nav screen? Seriously, go on to the Valentine One website and look at that this app. It really is very cool...I have it.
A combination of the Blendmount mirror mount for the detector and this app streaming information to the navigation screen would be awesome.
I use a HTC One V because its nice and small and black aluminum billet. I sync'd it to my Stingray Monday afternoon. It was super easy, and so far it does everything I've tried very well. The car's voice recognition is excellent

Why don't you try growing up. I've never seen anyone be such a douche over someone else's choice of a phone in my life.

Now that GM has created API's into the Mylink system, it may be possible.

I am sure that they were already aware, but I did send an email to the Valentine corporate office, to their support group, requesting that this be incorporated into their iPhone application and gave them the web link for the GM API Developer's Portal.

Apple nut-huggers are so funny to watch. So insecure about themselves.
Apple nut-huggers are so funny to watch. So insecure about themselves.
Ain't that the truth? For the record, I have both an iPad and an Android phone so I have no allegiance to either side. Even though I love my iPad there are things about it I wish I could change and I'll never understand the crazed fanboy loyalty some people have to Apple products....you know, like those morons who waited in line for days to get the new iPhone 5.

I just want to add to this that I use Waze on my smartphone and it rocks. Everyone should be running something like this app.
I should be able to stream Slacker via BT to the Bose stereo. Yes?
It works just fine. Like any other BT-enabled car stereo, the controls for Slacker will be limited to pausing and skipping songs (ie, FFWD). You won't be able to control the actual Slacker channel, change settings, etc. Nor will you be able to start the app from your Nav screen. You'll need to have it running on the phone first.
The Slacker folks know about the *Link APIs and I believe have a prototype version they're playing around with. I have no real proof of that, just hear-say and rumors.

Well, I want to be clear. I did not develop the software. I had a chance to work with it early and get involved in some of the documentation and training materials.
In the testing that I did, I give the nod to the iPhone. It will be compatible with pretty much all smartphones that have USB connectivity. Further, for just streaming, the bluetooth audio works very well and as a last resort, anything you have with a headphone out jack (3.5mm) the auxiliary connection will get your music from your phone or device and out the speakers of the system. There is a wide range of compatibility and pretty much a method to suit all.

Just so you know Apple has been losing global market share for years now. Their stock has done horrible lately because investors see the loss of market share and dominance Apple once had in the market place.
It is OK to have an IPhone but to make a post like this is pretty insulting.
I was disappointed to see that the targeted comparability was with I phones especially given the fact that globally there are five Android users for every IPhone user and that Crapsung as you put it is the largest Smartphone manufacturer in the World.
I will be giving update on my impressions of Android compatability. Crash and I disagree on a lot of things but phones are not one of them.
