I meant 6 speed...
I am hoping that the auto that was found in a C6 has been revised internals and the fact that the ecu processes much faster. I have a hard time believing that they did nothing.

What are the actual shift times in the 2014 A6 in auto mode and the PDK?

People also have to realize that transmission response also comes down to programming. The Porsche PDK is much quicker to react than the DCT in the Mercedes SLS in my experience.
The transmission itself might shift quickly, but the response to the paddles is slower. That's what was holding back the A6 before the 2013's IMO. BMW, Porsche, and Ferrari are all extremely good at that.

Motor trend just did a track test where the PDK Porsche 911 won a test comparing the DCT Ferrari f12 and manual c7 z51 even though the 911 was slowest in the road course.....so its easy to see why its often preferred....
Too bad the corvette c7 will never get DCT....torque convertor automatic in the c7 if you don't want a manual shift...
That's the c7 program....

Surprisingly the Audi s7 has a DCT and the more expensive RS7 has a torque convertor automatic...
Top of the line sport oriented Audi RS7 comes with a torque convertor transmission while the less sporting less expensive Audi S 7 comes equipped with a DCT....

Can someone please let us know their thoughts on GM's revised slush box.
None of the internet reviews tested. My guess is that next year there will be a dual clutch hence the hold on buying the 14. Hopefully I am right.

In addition, run it up and down South Mountain in the middle of the day in the middle of the week when no one is there. The road is not patrolled by Phoenix Police Department because it is all municipal park. If seen, the Ranger might tell you to slow down but just a warning unless you mouth off.

All you have to do is take Central Avenue (from anywhere north of South Mountain) south and it turns into the park road once you get to South Mountain Municipal Park. The guard station, if manned, is mainly to check for alcohol. Then it goes all the way to the top of South Mountain, and on a side leg, all the way to the TV/radio towers. All a two-lane road kept up VERY WELL. Go to you tube.com and search "South Mountain Road" and you will find a bunch of clips. Here is a bike ride from the near-top area down the road.

Actually I did use the paddles at a good clip to and from La Jolla last month through some mountains....it was fun, my GF had her eyes closed and nails in the leather the whole time.
