It's pretty clear we have already seen it in the leaked CAD and renderings and jalopnik sketch. Also, I believe GM goofed in a press photo and shows a dash with an electronic boost gauge. Pretty clear a HiPo version is going to exist with a SC. It has a lot of the changes we already see on the C6Z cars. The big questions are:
1. Are they going to produce both a Z0X and ZRX model or just one HiPo version?
2. Pricing structure? The C7 already incorporates a lot of the weigh savings tech that were used in the C6Z cars. This might allow them to produce it at a lower additional cost. They could sell many more HiPo cars if they found a way to keep it under 100K. It really depends on the material changes of the HiPo motor and how much $$$ they sink into trying to offset the weight of the supercharged motor or reduce the weight beyond this.
I think they'll also replace all the Stingray's remaining SMC body panels with carbon fiber.
what a smart ***, why don't you go pour a nice stiff drink and then quickly nod off to sleep in a recliner...the guy was just asking a simple question...
TVS (Eaton) charged 6.2L. Expect around 600-610hp. Current motor weak point is the rod bolts. Motor under test right now is being called LT5 but not yet official. Don't ask me how I know. . .
Step aside Mustang, Corvette is sharing the stage in Detroit.[/I][/B]
Today Chevrolet announced that the 2015 Corvette Z06 will be revealed at next month's Detroit auto show. According to the release, the new Z06 will provide "supercar" levels of performance through powertrain and chassis modifications. The move to reveal the car next month comes as cross-town rival Ford Motor Company is set to reveal their new performance machine, the 2015 Mustang.
Along with the released Chevrolet also put out a small teaser shot of the Z06. While design alterations from the base Stingray are clear from the shot, not much else is visible. No official details regarding the new Z06 have been released at this time, however sources have indicated to GMI in the past that the car will utilize a forced induction V-8.
GMI will be bringing first-hand coverage of the new Z06 from the show floor next month!
