Default We painted my C7 Corvette Hood Scoop Vent Insert - check it out

As soon as we got the car to the shop this morning, I really couldn't get over the look of the carbon flash metallic hood vent scoop insert. So...............I told the guys, let's paint that thing Crystal Red Metallic to match my car....I love the look, what do you guys think?

Do you like the "black" look or the body color matching look better?

Josh

Nice. I could go either way with the black color or body color. Both look good imo.

Paint all the black plastic vents and the A pillars. That looks real cool. The car immediately looks better finished and better quality.

I'm normally a fan of clean looks, especially with colors, but I feel the black vent actually looks good on the lighter color C7's.

Do you have a shot from further away to see the whole car?

I like carbon flash better

Funny thing is about modding cars, if the vents had come body colored, people would be painting them carbon flash for contrast LOL

If it wasn't for the black headlight buckets, I say you're way was a winner for sure. However, the vent does tie in to those headlights nicely so I think you can get away with either.

Can you paint the headlight now?

Looks good! Now go paint your Tail light Bezels and give us a pic! That is the one that I think over 50% of people would like to paint. The Yelow pic of them from the side doesn't give the whole picture.

I can't believe you guys are messing with the cars already. If I change anything it will be a month or two before I do anything, sometimes initial feeling changes. Another person was messing with the engine tune, didn't even give it time break in. Not me!!

This is Crystal Red Metallic? That seems really light. I love how it looks in your pictures, but when I see it in person (or at least the C6 version, not sure if it's the same), it looks dramatically darker, really more of a burgundy than red.

Body colored all the way. Looks more up scale, less boy racer, IMHO.
