I don't have to tell anyone the characteristics of 6th gens in the snow. I doubt anyone has experience it yet(aside from test mulers)but do you think any progress has been made? I'm a little concerned as the wife is expressing interest in a 14 as a daily driver.

C6s, like any other Corvette prior to them work just fine in the snow. With the right tires.

Equip the car with the right tires and it'll do just fine (assuming clearance!) Trying to drive the car in snow as equipped from the factory wouldn't be prudent.
Right tires is the right answer. BUT if you have a Z51 with 20 in tires in the back good luck with that. On my C6 with 19s I considered going to 18s lot more choices available..... but decided to be choosy on which snowy days I drove.
Going from a 20 in to a 18 in not sure about that...........
More important what I hope improves is the Michelins being more forgiving in cold weather then the goodyears. I know these are soft summer tires and cold weather is not good but anything less then 40 degrees and I really took it easy with the c6
I imagine that with the right tires it is doable but remember that if the snow is very deep, you will bottom out pretty easily.
I have Pirelli winter tires and they're a dream in the snow but like the Ox said, deep snow will have you bottom out and also turn your nose into a plow.
Snow tires are available in the non-Z51 sizes but all seasons may be your only option for the Z51.

I can also imagine getting a lot of snow packed into the grill and causing overheating.

According to their size chart, Continental offers the ExtremeContact DWS tires in the Z51 sizes. these are what I'm going with, based on reports on the C6 forum.
I'm sorry, but this is a pretty silly thread. What does the OP want GM to do? Enable the owner to selectively order an option to jack up the suspension 5" with low rider hydraulic shocks and include an additional optional set of 18" narrow wheels with snow tires? Really? Really??
It's a sports car...
Want an optional snorkel breathing system to extend electrically and automatically reroute the intake flow when the streets flood a little bit too?

Actually, they did address the issue with the Weather mode.
I've driven my C6 (with factory tires) in snow. It is my daily driver. Granted, it does not snow very often around here, but it can be done. Just drive cautiously with a very light right foot.
I do .......... And have been been doing so ever since I got my learners permit back in '59. In fact, I've posted pictures in the C6 section.
funny!!! you said you drive in snow and you're from texas!!!!!
id like to see some one try here with 40 inches of snow!! thats why my ZR1 is already in storage!!!

apology accepted. Believe it or not vettes do get daily drivin. And while nobody PLANS to drive in the snow we often are surprised with a coating when it's time to head home from work. Not to mention the female driver element!

Born and raised on the IL/WI border. Still drive the Vette up there to visit my mother. Even in the winter. It will be back up there in Jan for her 102nd birthday.
