Default 1-4 shift BYPASS KIT

does anyone know if the c7 takes the same bypass kit to disable the 1st to 4th gear shift lock out?

Why would you need a by-pass kit? Just drive it normally and it will shift normally. You almost have to try to shift too soon, at a very light throttle to engage the 1st to 4th algorithm.

Also, when the ingine is cold, it won't do that anyway.

It is a pain, I finally disabled it in my C6. In traffic you can't operate out of the computer controlled shift as some say is possible. You wind up fiddling with the shift, distracting is an understatement. I didn't believe how annoying CAGS was until after I disabled it.

Over 9 years of C5Z ownership and it's never been a problem...even in stop-n-go rush hour traffic.

I have it on my Z. If I wanted a car to tell me when to shift I would buy an automatic.

Original question; a new transmission probably means a new harness.

Good grief! If you are going to shift up out of first below 17 miles an hour, why even use first gear............just start in second!

It is no problem for me as I don't "short" shift!........CAGS stays does not interfere.

I've had it in very heavy traffic and parking garages. Disabling it was the best $25 bucks ever spent.

I need to know also. I bought my C5 adapter from Mid-America for $20. That was in 2000. I hate locked out of anything on my our car and would pay $100 if I have to. That is how much I hate the CAGS.

I've noticed it a few times driving around town. I hate it, has to go. Car shifts to 4th and sounds like it's bogged down for a second till it picks up speed.
