Which? The button or home? I just programmed my location and labeled it "Home" . I may have erred if home is part of the program. Still I just ask the NAV for "home" and it finds what I programmed.
My C6 had a icon on the lower left of the NAC which looked like a house. You just needed to tap it and the NAV gave you directions to the address that was programed in. I have not been able to see this on my C7. When programing in addresses I did see a prompt that said home, but I do not see how to bring it up easily or where it is stored.
Very informative thread Talon902; thanks much. I'm having issues with my C7 recognizing playlists. I have a Kingston HyperX 240GB SSD that holds about 160GB of music. The file structure is [Letter of alphabet] [artist] [album] [mp3s]. The Kingston was set as drive K on my home computer and the m3u's work when being played there. The playlists are in their own folder on the Kingston, but are not recognized. Any ideas?

This is not going to be a substitute for hands on experience with the system. You will still need to take some time and familiarize yourself with the system. This will let you hit the ground running after you pick up your car.
Enjoy,
Paul
Thanks. That was really well done. Kudos to you. Have you done any other "manuals"?
I just got my C7 and am still feeling my way around it -- especially, the infotainment system. The only way I know to use the system is to turn the car on and use the menus, etc while the car is idling.
On older cars, you could put the ignition on ACC and use the radio, etc without the car actually running. Is there something equivalent to that on the C7?

try and start the car without your foot on the brake = ACC
I have a couple questions for you Paul > Can the Snowflake be changed ? How do you Voice activate the Navigation system ? And how do you get Phone Contact Pics up on the Screen ?
I just cannot figure out how to get the NAV system to "save to vehicle contacts." In fact what does that mean? Does the vehicle have its own memory or does it need a phone or USB drive to save anything.
When the car says "saved," and I go to "vehicle contacts" it is empty. This appears on page 13 of the guide. "Save" says "enter a new contact" or something, which I do, but it never really is "saved."
Can all these things be done while the car is in accessory mode, or dose the engine have to be running? Thanks
You can accomplish most all of it in accessory mode. For those that you can't, use ignition on/engine off mode. Press and hold the start button (no clutch, no brake) for 10 seconds. You will see the car power on.

Question for anyone, when I complete a BT phone call the phone screen remains visible to get back to the audio screen I was on I have to press the radio button.

Is this normal?
Tom, my recollection is that if you originate the call the behavior you describe is normal. If you receive a call it should return to the last thing you were doing when the call came in.

Well done learning something new every day about my vette,Thanks again Earl
With the C6 you put together a very handy DVD and ran a class at the BASH. Do you plan on doing that again this year? I found that to be outstanding. Thanks again for your help with this system....Jimmy
