I called my insurance company on Saturday to add my C7. They were unable to add it right away...claiming I was the first to request coverage on a 2014 and they haven't determined rates yet. Seemed odd to me. They did tell me I was automatically covered, which I figured.
Called back on Monday...the underwriting team is looking at it. Still nothing today.
We've got 2 cars, home, and personal liability polices with State Farm. The C7 is $504 semi-annually with $500 deductible. My 2000 C5 was $374 per 6 months, so the C7 cost an additional $264 per year.
Got Liberty Mutual and got quoted back in the middle of sept when I got a VIN. Added it first week of October no issues. $800 / year which is cheaper than my C6! Maybe because my C6 is a Vert?

Anyone else have problems getting coverage?
Please name your Insurance Company (inquiring minds want to know). They should all have rates.
My insurance actually went DOWN with the new C7. It makes sense though considering I was driving a 2013 Mustang GT before. I have Geico by the way and have been happy with them over the years. Took me 5 minutes online to update the policy. The VIN wasn't recognized, but they give you the option to put the model in manually. They will verify the VIN when it becomes readily available.
I'm getting ripped off... My broker said the c7 is too new and the rates are high because of it. I told them that's BS. They quoted me 290/mo with my daily driver Camry. I have a clean record and I'm 30 years old. Something is wrong.
I have Hartford thru AARP. My yearly premium for a C6 z51 coupe was $890. The price jumped to $1295 for my C7 Z51 coupe for the same coverage. Can't get any explanation for the bump in the price.

Progressive is one of the companies I am an agent for. I just called them and found out that they simply have to give the vehicle information to their analysts so they can decide what symbol to temporarily put the car under. Eventually, they will determine the symbol they will use. Let me know if you need any help.
BTW, I was tired of being ripped off by my broker. Switched to Progressive last night and saved a lot of money. Saved about $120. My broker was telling me to get 100/300/100 coverage it would cost me over $400/mo. Progressive got it for me for $270/mo with a $1 (really! 1 dollar) down payment.
Thanks again to all who replied. Progressive got back to me today, and my rate is only increasing by $20/yr over what I was paying for my 2011Grand Sport.
