Default C7 Base Wheels

Hey, here's a thought. With enough negative press, maybe in a year or two GM will smarten up, get rid of those incredibly FUGLY wheels on the base C7, and replace them with something better?

FUGLY!!!

BETTER!!

I think I'd rather have the C7 wheels. Mesh wheels look great but it gets old cleaning them.

It took 3 years with the C6, '05-'07 same base wheels, changed in '08, so there's your calendar, probably, maybe, who knows?

I agree, they are a pain. I just used that photo to show just how ugly the base wheels are in comparison. Heck, if I do buy a C7, I may just move my C6 stock wheels over to the C7. They are actually much nicer (IMHO)..

You have a Carlisle blue car with those horrible starfish wheels and say the C7 base wheels are fugly? Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beer holder.

I have chrome base wheels and I love them. Can't tell you how many people tell me how much they like them and don't like the black wheels. Like the previous post says beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Hey thanks for helping me figure out why I hate the C7 base wheels as much as I do. If you take the pre-"starfish" wheels (2005-2010?) and "twist" the spokes slightly, you come up with the C7 base wheels....

What were they thinking?

BTW, I do agree with you on one major point. The worst of all are the black wheels. Sorry, but when I see black wheels, all I can think of is,

What happened to the hub caps?

Good question, although I replaced the split spoke wheels with as you put it; the horrible starfish wheels for two reasons: easier to clean and I prefer the simpler look.

Z51 wheels for me. More modern than the starfish and still not too complicated. I've had simple to complex and there is something about the right balance that if you find that balance, all is right with the world. Z51 wheels look close enough to that for now, then when I want to up grade the look i two years I will find something that fits the look and feel I want.
