Is it shipping by truck or rail?

Congratulations! Looks like you're not going to get "railroaded" like many unfortunate current buyers .

After all this, that would have been the final blow

Looks like Santa will be a few days early this year! Can't wait to see how nice it is when he brings it.

Don't see them spraying any part on the car!
I would think they would just replace the affected panels - maybe even everything except the rockers, which are bonded to the frame. I know the Museum Delivery folks will send cars back to the plant when they find problems, so there is a shop there to handle such issues. They will need to make decisions to be sure color is consistent throughout the change-over.

I agree with the previous statement that it sounds like GM - and the dealership - has stepped up to the plate here.

(Just a side note on how easy it is to fix body problems on newer Corvettes - the insurance on my 2013 GS convertible is $100/year LESS than our 2011 Cadillac CTS, even though the 'vette booked for about $25K more.)

Hope the OP is back in the saddle soon!

I didn't follow the debate on the trains. What difference does it make?

It's coming back to me by truck. And I'll give the details of what they did to it once I have it back. I'm sure I don't know everything there is to know about it yet.

Jaga appreciates all that GM is doing for him. If the car still has a minor flaw or two don't expect him to be mentioning them here

I'm calling a reskin with Z06 panels, converting to a widebody.. He won't get the car back until the January announcement in Detroit
