Default Crazy problem-seat will not move back!

I moved the driver's seat forward to install the rear luggage cover.

I then went to drive the car and the seat will not move back. I will move forward but no backward. The seat switch does nothing, the memory buttons do nothing. Easy exit button does nothing. I can't even drive the car, I can't fit!

Any suggestions?

if you can reach under the seat, make sure the connectors are all securely connected.

check your fuses.

you may also try to disconnect the battery for about 30 secs to see if that resets something.

if that all fails, tow to the dealer.

The seat moves forward and tilts forward, does not tilt back or move back. So strange. I'll check the items you suggest.

I wonder if it is the safety switch under the carpet behind the driver's seat. It is designed to prevent the seat from moving too far back. I was leaning behind the seat to install the luggage cover. Maybe the switch is faulty? I picked up the carpet and it is a long strip of contact switches.

This happened to me back when I owned my GTO. It was always a caused by a fuse in that case. It was a common problem on that vehicle but a quick fix. Hopefully it's something simple like that for you .

What confuses me is that if it was a fuse, it would not move forward tilt forward. Only movement in the rear direction is dead. It won't tilt back or slide back. Forward, no problem.

I just had this problem this morning with the passenger seat, went to clean behind the seat. Moved it all the way forward, and all the way as well on the forward tilt. Guess what, won't move back. Won't go any direction. Took it to the Dealer, they will have to get ahold of GM techs. They first tried a software update, that did not work. Did the Dealer get the problem fixed? Thanks

I have had the same experience. Solved the problem after referring to the owner manual in sections 3-5 and 3-6 which reference "Seat Travel Limit" and "Obstructions". Persevere!

I have had the same problem. On the back of the press the release button, then tilt the back of the seat forward, then put back in place. There must be a sensor in the seat, this happened to me when I did a mirror tap.good luck hope this helps?
