Some of you may know that I seem to have the opposite problem that most of the other C7 owners have been experiencing. My gauges and screens NEVER dim. They stay bright all of the time. I have never had the dim at dusk or dawn problem that so many have.
Anyway, another member pointed out the **** which should serve as a traditional dimmer. However, nothing changes when I turn the ****! Also, I will turn it all the way to the right, which in most vehicles turns on the interior lights, but not for me. Nothing happens at all .
Could you guys verify that the dimmer **** does, in fact, work on your vehicles? Thanks!
I guess my problem is a blessing in disguise . I am debating whether or not to take it into the dealership to get it fixed before software is released to fix the dash being too dim issue. I don't want to get the **** fixed only to have to deal with the dimming problem!
I do believe there is an option to not have the dash lights dim in the console, although I haven't tried it.
As the others have pointed out, my dimmer **** works exactly how you described that it should work. Although, I find the **** is very flimsy -- one quirk I don't mind. I never use the **** anyhow.
Ugh. I wonder if it's the switch itself or the software at this point. I am leaning towards software since my screens are at full brightness all of the time.

Slappy, nothing personal, but you would have to be to take your car in at this time.

I agree. It's something I would mention during an oil change. Plus, if they fix it, I will likely get the dimming issues everybody has been having. Even though it's "stuck" right now, it's stuck in the best position. It just sucks not being able to turn on all of the lights with the switch. Overall, it's not a big deal .
