Default NPP Keep or Bail

We are patiently waiting for our convertible. NPP is on our build sheet. More postings are being made about discontent with this option. We bought Corsa Sports for our C6 and would be good with them again. I don't care if I can open/shut the ports. We are used to full time roar.

Why not eliminate unneeded complexity if possible?

I'm not getting the NPP option. I have been surprised how many order performance exhaust. Increase of six horsepower; debatable, engine manufacturing variations in dimensions can add or take horsepower this amount. I like a little performance growl, hopefully the base exhaust will supply my requirements, and I will have about $1,200 towards the next Corvette.

"Stock" exhaust on a C7 is a big fat Being able to control loud or not so loud is a plus to many I'd bet

I also suspect most that choose NPP do so for the sound, not the few extra HP......

Skip it and go aftermarket.

But the OP says Borla is OK with him w/o ability to control. So, whether HE should go NPP or Borla is the issue.

I was just responding to the post I did, not necessarily the OP

(but I do agree with you. For the OP, I think it makes sense not to go with NPP)

NPP is the best. Can hear it rumble when I want and keep it quiet when it needs to be quiet.

Can you link the posts with discontent? Not trying to be snarky, I just haven't seen any.

My reasons to go with this option:

1. Difficulty of install, looks like you an aftermarket exhaust is quite an install procedure.
2. Warranty/OEM peace of mind
3. Ability to go quite/loud.
4. I have a feeling the aftermarket will come up with great valved exhausts that you can probably control with the oem interface if you have the option in the fist place.
5. Ability to go loud with headers and still keep oem appearance.
6. Non npp exhaust tips are an inch smaller and I'm not a fan, this will be remedied by aftermarket.

I do not care about the HP increase but in the ability to soften the sound when needed. I have not read about any discontent yet.

The standard exhaust on the C7 is way too quiet. At Cars and Coffee Saturday, a new white C7 pulled out and it was silent. Reminds me of when I bought my first Harley. I went to pick it up and it was quiet. I asked what was wrong with it and they said after 500 miles, I could bring it back and get the Screaming Eagle carburetor and exhaust. Much better.

I have NPP with the pulled fuse on my C6. Love it and so, ordered it for my C7.

I heard an NPP C7 for the first time the other day and was quite surprised at how loud/aggressive the exhaust was when opened up!

I wonder how non NPP sounds in 4 cylinder mode as it was awful with my LS4?

Got every option on my C7 except NPP. Doesn't look right to me. Getting a Borla Dual angular exhaust ASAP once it is out.

well that and the $100 buck painted mirrors and spoiler. But that's not needed on a CG with black rimmed C7.
or the tacky stripe. That's straight up silly. This is no Mustang my friend.

I have the NPP and love it. Like most say not for the HP but for the ability to change how loud. My car is a daily driver, so there are time when I like it loud and time when I need it quite.

I skipped the option as I wanted to put a Borla on it once they are available.

I wish mine had NPP but I won't lose sleep over it. More important for me was to find/get one with the Z51, which I did. I already inquired with a local dealer about retrofitting NPP to my C7 if I go that route... no rush since I'm also eyeing what the name brand exhaust vendors have in store sooner or later.

I don't have a disconnect with my NPP, works perfectly here. I had BB Bullets on the C6 and my wife refused to ride in the car so I went with NPP this time around. A "me" mode and a "wife" mode.

The ability to change at a wim and the sound it emits, is well worth it.

I'm glad I got it. I had it on my C6 with a Mild2Wild switch, and like everything else on the C7, the system is quite improved.
