Honestly, you can store more music on an SD than the system can handle anyway. Besides, hard disks are loud and slow. SD or USB sticks are the way to go.
Thanks guys, I was watching a video review on youtube and it said it was a 9 speaker system and I thought it was 10. He also stated it had a hard drive, that's why I asked the original question.

Especially considering the fact that their storage capacity is HUGE per unit and unlimited in multiples.

And more prone to failure, harder to replace/fix, etc.
I disagree...I would love to have 20G on a hard disc like BMW or others...of course, it would require a CD slot to get them recorded..
In this day and age that is obsolete. Technology moves at a fast pace. Spinning drives, especially in cars, is old technology. If they are going to include built in storage it should be SSD.

I like the ability to replace and upgrade the removable card at a cheaper price then what GM would probably pass down to the customer if they included storage. But you are right, splitting hairs. To each their own.
I traded in a 2012 CTS Premium with the HD. I had probably 75 albums on it and never had a problem skipping. It was a little bit of an issue locating music sometimes on it. On the Vette, it won't be as smooth a ride, so I agree the SD and USB port is the way to go. The SD's are cheap now and you can have your favorites and/or individual groups on each SD. I'll have to start looking for a SD storage box that will fit in the console.
Actually, I already have all the music on USB's, I don't need to buy any SD cards. I'm set!!!
Be careful if you have a particularly gigantic music library. The car only supports SDHC cards (up to 32GB), not SDXC cards over that capacity. If you want 64 or 128GB of storage, you need to use a USB stick.
