I have owned some luxury cars....Mercedes, BMW, etc.....however my choice to buy a 1LT was to enjoy a true sport car. The new 1LT gives me 99% of what those cars offer. CarPlay covers all the entertainment/navigation, and the performance selection and dash board display leaves little out. The upgraded models are, IMO, expensive, but each to their own. I like the cleanliness of the 1LT w/o ground effects, over size spoilers, racing strips, and cockpit convinces I can do without.

For those who want over the top performance, I respect their choice. No one has the right to judge another’s taste in what they own/drive. We do belong to the same club. I was a Harley own for many years and feel a similar connection. I also owned a C5 and a C4.....the C7 again IMO is head and shoulders superior but I would never put down or disrespect the owners or any other model.

I have a 3LT but that's only because I found it used at a good price. Otherwise would have been a 1LT....

My one year evaluation 2018 1lt z51 wheels, carbon flash trim, non npp. M7. Bought new did not order it its now showing 8,876 mi. Traded my one owner 2012 challenger srt, m 6 in on it. I’m 73, it’s our d d, I’ve had all the bells and whistles on other cars, never used some options. This basic Vette for us has been a hoot! Only thing I would of ordered npp. Easy after market up grade. The lbr color looks great with black trim. These 1lt’s are perfect for someone who doesn’t track, don’t need the added expense of the dry sump, and extra weight. The cars only issue was a gas gauge malfunction, fixed on warranty. No rattles, leaks, squeaks, weired sounds out of the engine, we did change tire alignment to street, and have not noticed any handling issues, I do push this car, to my limits, and it just begs for more, it is more car for the $ than any car we looked at. In the end it’s personal preference that for each individual is the difference, in my opinion.

hang on, only the cars with the Z51 package have the dry sump setup?

as for trim levels, honestly as with most cars these days, choice of trim has little to do with the base product. we're all getting mostly the same car, with the exception of the ZR of course. the bells and whistles are more about the overall driving experience and thats such a subjective thing that its not even worth pecking over, imo.

I’ve had my 1LT Z51 for a little over a year. This December, I briefly thought about trading it for a 2LT GS. The extra interior options along with magnetic ride were appealing to me, but I noticed that the only time I miss these options is when I’m not driving my car. On the other hand, when I’m driving my Corvette I don’t even think about the lack of heated seats or the ability to change the ride quality. (I hardly toggle between driving modes anyways. It mostly stays in “Sport”).

That was true in the 2014 model year when this thread was started, but since that time the Grand Sport, Z06 and ZR1 have been introduced, and all of them have the dry sump setup too.

1LT is what I drive in the C7 and I saw it as the smoking deal that it is. I almost got the 2019 Z06 but it wasn’t the extra money but the extra ponies, that I would use little if much at all. The Z06 was too special for me to own, the car deserves an owner that can put it to work, which clearly isn’t me. So the 2019 Stingray has been a huge thrill over my C6 that every time I roll that car out of the garage, My day could not start off more positive and more money in my Stingray wouldn’t take the Thrill Meter up whatsoever than it already reads. btw/ I never heard anyone here ever put down a 1LT.

You must not have seen any posts by Skid Row Joe then, as he makes it his mission to put down 1LT owners every chance he gets

NO, not every one thinks that way. In fact, I'd pay extra to have less s**t than the 1LT has on it!

But, to each his or her own.

oh, interesting. i have a 2LT and i really felt that was best, this is my daily so didnt wanna deal with the stiffer suspension and didnt like the sound of all the nonsense with the dry sump, funky procedures and alot more oil required etcetc.

Almost 5 and a half years of ownership ...
Couldn’t be happier.
Today ,it’s the most exclusive Vette everywhere I go(1LT,with a 450$ limerock green paint option)...every Vette I see has jumbo wings /hood stripes.

Porsche and BMW can oblige you! I think both make “stripper” models for about $10K over a fully loaded model.

If he’s still at it, it’s because he hides behind his keyboard and hasn’t been doing it to peoples faces.

I wanted a base 1LT because it has the least amount of stuff on it that I did not want. Instead of wasting money, I used the base as a "base" to configure the car exactly the way I want. Even with this strategy there is a lot of electronic-based functionality that I haven't used after a year of ownership

LOL No. But they are the only two brands who have the cajones to charge a premium price for a car with less features. It's almost a case of "the emperor has no clothes".

Well I've learned to spend my money wisely and since I only have limited income, I not only bought a 1LT Stingray, I ordered it! I still could not justify spending 4K more for a 2LT or 8K for a 3LT. However, if I still lived up north at the time with the crappy roads I might have gone with a Z51 but I knew at the time that a base C7 handled as well as a C6 GS. So here's the picture of my 2014 LT1 Stingray.

I recently got my own 1LT too! Was about to purchase an aftermarket exhaust from someone for my non-npp setup until my wife decided she didnt want the car any louder than what is is. No big deal. But I do want the look of the performance exhaust at the least. Is there anyway I can do that???

Oh yea. The ultimate base 1LT stingray with 0 options is amazing and dont let anyone tell you different. It's my daily driver. The c8 will be my babied, ***** to the wall super car.
