this guy's fishing, if I could sell mine for a 10K profit I know I definitely would too, I would then just order another one with more down and have a lower payment. For schits and giggles I just might put mine up for sale and see what happens.

Supply and demand. Right now there is more demand than supply in California. I went to Oklahoma to get mine at under sticker.
Compared to similar high line sports cars like the Jaguar F Type and Porsche 911 (especially the 911), it's still worth it at $30K over. Not that I would pay that much (or any amount) over sticker, but just saying GM did what no other manufacturer can do for $75K.
And I saw a Range Rover Supercharged for $30K over too.....more power to those who can afford to pay over sticker!!
Must be a west coast thing. I'm in Oregon and have always been horrified by the "Market Adjustments" of $10K to $30K at my local dealer. I actually felt outraged at the nerve of these people. Now, this local dealer no longer stocks Corvettes, so I can't even go see a C7 in person.
Gee, I wonder if there's connection there ...
I'm sure the dealer isn't expecting to get that much of a markup (there's not that many rich suckers in this world), but if he sets his opening negotiation position that high, he's more likely to end up at MSRP or a little better.
Come on people! You all should know that 30k over the sticker price is the " I don't want to sell it price". I know the dealer and they will sell 10 more cars just because there is too many people that say they will not buy or order a new car if they can't see it, sit in it, touch it, drive it, etc. These cars are still hard to find and see in person. it is very smart for them to keep that car in the showroom. They will have no trouble selling that car at MSRP when the C7's are readily available. If they sell 10 more cars because that car was available for skeptics to fondle and then sell that Special edition at even invoice, they will still make more money.

Exactly. When I was shopping for my C6 in Portland (2005), the dealers were asking $5,000 over MSRP. When I offered invoice plus $500 they quickly came down to MSRP, but no lower. I ended up getting my C6 in Kent WA for invoice plus $1,000.
I'm pretty sure I know which dealer we're talking about. They wouldn't even let me sit in it. Not surprisingly, I subsequently bought mine out of state. Eff 'em :-)

And what if it's $100K over MSRP, stupid is what stupid does. Don't blame the dealer. On my 4th Vette now, including a ZO6 all through a car broker who's commission/finder's fee paid by the selling dealer, and all purchased outside the Golden Sate, never left to go anywhere, well except to Bowling Green for a museum delivery, all under MSRP, Stop buying cars the old fashioned way, brokers are a dime a dozen, tell them what you want and how much you're willing to pay, sit back with a cold beer and they'll find and deliver it to your door steps
Don't blame them for trying to make a buck on something hot. Everyone does it. If you don't like it don't buy it but some people have money to burn. Might as well capitalize on it

Honest to God, if I could get a C7 for sticker price or below out of state, I'd be willing to fly there to get it and either just drive it back or Uhaul it back.
Seriously, when the time comes for me to start looking, I'll even hit up Oklahoma to see what they can offer me. If the price is right, I'm there.
What I don't understand is the "outraged" feeling. My local dealer is a good guy and sold me my 13 camaro. I really like them. When I asked about a vette last summer, they said they would be going at 10K over. I said to my sales guy "good for you, I hope you get it"...and I meant it. They just were not going to get it from me. My sales guy understood that, and asked me to bring mine by when I got it from someone else. No harm done, I stopped by the other day. Had a crowd around the car.
Dealers can do whatever they want. I personally don't think that makes them bad people. Unlike the enthusiasts here, the Vette is hot enuf to bring in a few "gotta have it" types that will pay it. Simple as that....
The phenomenon will all be over soon......
Yep…can't blame them for trying. No one is twisting someones arm to make them pay over or even at MSRP.
Another Calif. dealer that is selling at MSRP is in Rio Vista, about 80 miles south of Sacramento. I don't know if Im allowed to mention the name of the dealer or not. They've been in business for 77 years.
I ordered mine 11/19 just the way I want it.
I had said that I got my car at MSRP but didn't give the name of the dealer.
The dealer is Abel Chevy in Rio Vista, Ca. They sell their cars with NO markup. On their website, it shows two cars, one Laguna Blue Z51, and one TR Z51. The blue is in the showroom, I don't know about the red one.

I have heard that they have a really good Vette tech.
