Not trying to hijack the thread but it's on a similar subject but can anyone say what kind of battery the C7 comes with?
Since some of the subsystems systems still operate after the car is shut off & yet it has to maintain enough juice for starting a V8 for the next drive cycle. I would imagine it may be more of a deep cycle battery as well as a starter. Maybe a hybrid style battery, has anyone look at the battery? Is it OEM to GM? Do we know GM uses for batteries?
Just thinking about an optima or oydessy, don't think a light weight lithium would be best in the situation.
Steve
Called Delco and Rep says it’s their model 48PS. Looked at an Optima and Odyssey but both have different shaped tops for the same size model. The Optima terminals are more to the center. The problem, if you look at the battery, is there an electrical panel on the left side that attaches to the left terminal. It does not appear an Optima would allow connecting properly. Will be interested to see what batteries are listed as replacements. My battery voltage is low, even after charging with my equivalent to a Chevy charger (CTEK 3300) but dealer says it’s fine. However if the battery acts up would like to replace it with a glass matt battery, which the Delco is not! So far it always starts.
Folks;
Looking at purchasing the GM battery tender, which apparently plugs into the cig lighter. Any thoughts or experience appreciated!
Thanks-Jerry
This option was already on the car we bought but personally, I would not have ordered it. We have battery tenders on our jet skis at home that work well and were cheaper than the Corvette battery tender.
See no reason you can’t use a CTEK and attach the alligator clips to the terminal under the hood. Correct me if I’m wrong. Don
Could use alligator clips but if you were using the charger often might consider using the two wire connector with the ring terminals that came with the CTEK. Recently on another thread, relative to powering an auxiliary device, it was mentioned not to remove the nut on the positive terminal, the one powering the fuse panel but add a ring terminal and another nut on top. There was a picture with the plastic cover on and a wire and fuse coming from underneath.

Thanks, I have a CTEK MUS3 or something like that, one notch above the 3300 and it comes with ring connectors. Don

Still waiting on mine to be built, but I have usually connected my Tender (a Griots Garage charger/tender/maintainer) to the battery terminals under the hood. Since the car sits during the winter its not a big deal to setup and then detach in the spring. Is there a set of + / - terminals under the hood ? The manual on-line is a bit non-specific on if or where the terminals are located and how accessable under the hood. All references seem to be the battery itself in the rear of the vehicle. Appreciate some clarity from someone that has a better visibility under the hood.
There is nothing specials bout the Vette batt, no AGM or any other type of advanced construction.
But it does come with C7 Logo and a pouch with same, for whatever that is worth. And the plug in adapter is already hard wired to the unit. Just saying.
I have the C-Tek MU4.7, and like it better than the 3300 because it has status lights showing the state of battery charge - it is about $10 more than the 3300.
The cigarette lighter attachment was an additional $9. All in it was $64.

I have had more than One (1) CTEK trickle / maintainer go bad. When they do if not found
in a timely manner they will kill the battery. A clicking sound emanating from the CTEK is
a indication of a bad charger. If the charger is plugged into the car but not plugged into
the 120V source it will kill the battery.
