Wow! Does C7 even have cigarette lighter and ash tray???
No. Only a receptical for a lighter and no ashtray, although I believe one can be ordered as an accessory.
The manual states that you must use the plug receptical in the trunk to charge the vehicle. I initially tried to plug the battery charger into the cigarette lighter outlet but it would not work.
Not trying to hijack the thread but it's on a similar subject but can anyone say what kind of battery the C7 comes with?
Since some of the subsystems systems still operate after the car is shut off & yet it has to maintain enough juice for starting a V8 for the next drive cycle. I would imagine it may be more of a deep cycle battery as well as a starter. Maybe a hybrid style battery, has anyone look at the battery? Is it OEM to GM? Do we know GM uses for batteries?
Just thinking about an optima or oydessy, don't think a light weight lithium would be best in the situation.
Folks;
One more question. For those using them batt tender, where does the cord exit the rear of the C7?
As always, thanks-Jerry
The right rear side of the car, between the hatch and the fender. I totally close the hatch. I have only used the battery tender twice just to see if it works.
It's a thin wire; you just close the hatch with the wire running over the rubber seal and it's fine. Be sure to wrap a microfiber towel or something around the wire to keep it off the paint.
I wrote in another thread that I wish GM would add an external tender outlet under the bumper or something.

Can you plug it into the cigarette lighter, the receptical in the trunk or either one?? Sorry just not sure.
