The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I purchased a Z51 vert with carbon fiber dash in September and my order still has not gone to 2000 because of the constraints on those two items.

Chugging right along
Z-51 - no other constraint items.
I assume with 2 days before the shutdown I will stay at 3000 for some time.

a dealer puts it in his computer on his end = code 1100 - at this point you don't have jack....
when Chev says the dealer has a "slot" and it matches your order - they ACCEPT IT and your code becomes 2000
At that point you are getting a car, before that...nothing....
So 1100 is you wrapping a package, and putting it on your doorstep and calling UPS
2000 is when the truck comes and picks it up, until then your package can sit there forever...
I have said this before but the very best way to get info is from your dealer. Remind the SALES MANAGER - not your salesman, that you are going to get a survey when all is said and done and you want desperately to give them good scores...but you can't if you don't get the codes from them every few days via email at 10 am in the morning.
watch what happens, when you score the dealer low on the survey, it costs the sales department THOUSANDS of dollars.......
that being said, if you are contacting chevy, they very absolute best way - ABOVE ALL OTHERS - is see the chevy cust service people here - Kelly and Marrissa have access to more data that any other source. Kelly gave me my VIN A FULL WEEK before anyone else at chevy could give it to me….
and to give you an idea how fast you move - this is my progression (WITH NO CONSTRAINTS)
9/10 - deal sealed via email with Dealer - 1 day(s) to next code
9/11 - GM workbench 1100 order received from Dealer- 6 day(s) to next code
9/17 - code 2000 - order accepted by Chev- 1 day(s) to next code
9/18 - code 3000 - order accepted by Production - 8 day(s) to next code
9/26 - code 3300 - order scheduled for production - 6 day(s) to next code
10/2 - code 3400 - Order Broadcasted for Production - 2 day(s) to next code
10/4 - VIN avail - 1G1YD2D78E5103602 - 7 day(s) to next code
10/11 - 3800 - Vehicle Produced - 1 day(s) to next code
10/12 -4B00 Bayed - 11 days to next code
10/22-4200 shipped - 1 day to next code
10/23 - 5000 - delivered

The chat rep explained that 200 means:
"This means that you have gone from the paperwork stage to where now the plant has accepted the order for production and the next stage will be for them to assign a VIN and put in place a target production week for the build to take place."
With regard to items that may be on constraint, I was told:
"It takes time to get all of this in place, review your vehicle build, verify the order, etc. The dealership would be the only one to really know those details at this time and it would be strictly from comparison to other previously placed orders. For instance if there was a certain tire or seat style, and they knew it was on constraint the dealership would be advised of that."
Hope that helps someone.

and last time I checked, TPW's were not being given out anymore....
She gave me a "service request number" and her email address that I can use to ping her each week, and she promised to give me the latest updates. She recommended doing so each Friday, as their production computer system is extremely complex and orders can bounce forward and backward which can frustrate buyers who don't understand it, but that on a weekly basis I should see positive progress.
