Why is this person who parked next to you a moron?
They are well parked in the spot, there is a ton of space between cars, and I suspect they did no damage to your car since you failed to mention any occurring.
Plenty of space + no damage = the person obviously was interested by your cool car, and so parked next to you to get a nice look.
But hey, poor people with crappy beaters are stupid subhuman scum and should not be allowed to breath the same air as you, much less park next to you, right?
The guy is not a moron but somewhat inconsiderate or just lacked a certain awareness. Obviously the C7 was parked away from the other cars to avoid someone parking next to him-so why park next to him if there are tons of spaces closer.
Looking at the OP's photo it seems he did not park far enough away, if you want to be protective of your car walk the extra 25-50 yards where NO ONE parks. Seems to me there are plenty of cars in the vicinity of his.

It is difficult to tell by the picture if the passenger door of the junker had the potential to hit the OPs car if opened any more than half way.
We can assume no damage to the OPs car occurred.
The conclusion is that although there was no damage, we do not have enough FACTS determine the MOTIVE of the driver of the junker.
It is possible he chose that spot for the purpose of pissing off the OP. It is also possible he just picked the spot at random.
He did not park right next to the OPs car to "get a nice look". I'm not buying that. He could have done that by parking in any spot within a 30 yard vicinity of the OP car.
So, I drive my C7 up to Home Depot to get some supplies. I park 30 spaces away from the building, 15 spaces from the nearest car. When I come out, only one of those 15 spaces is full…
I parked ://s1032.photobucket.com/user/ggerstmann1958/media/20140603_121142_zpsnvrwy199.jpg.html][/URL]Wal-Mart , walked 30 feet and saw this. Figured I'd take a pic of him taking a pic .

Very brave taking your Vette to Walmart, let alone parking there!
I usually park diagonally across two spaces. haven't had anybody mess with me yet.
Good idea to inconvenience everyone else 100% of the time to save yourself from a small risk of something happening to you. I cringe when I see people do this.
Door dings and random events damaging your car suck. But if the car is that precious to you, a beater car for day to day use might be a good idea.
Perhaps I am in the minority here, but really, the "unwashed masses" and "those people will probably never be able to afford one". Maybe it is just me but It is just a car. Not only that but we are lucky we can afford one, it doesn't mean it is bad if you cannot. For that matter, maybe the people can but they are just not car people.
I guess I cannot understand the point of judging people by their cars or their income. It certainly does not meant that they work less then us and it certainly does not mean that we are special where as they are not. I find this just crazy.
A parking moron that gave enough space for the OP to get in and out of his car, I see no issue. On a separate post there was some information about a vette that was hit, that is a parking moron. Hit and run is a moron, not parking appropriately. At least that is my opinion anyway.
This is something that has gotten worse here over time. I don't remember as many people wrapping their entire self worth in their cars when I first came here in 2001 to research my first Corvette. (Though perhaps I am misremembering.) Regardless I think there are folks here who feel that others should respect them or think highly of them because they bought a Corvette. And by extension, the folks who have "lesser" cars must be lesser people.
Then there are other folks who realize that there are a lot of people who could easily afford to buy a Corvette but don't buy one. And there are folks who have Corvettes and can't responsibly afford one and are in debt up to their eyeballs thinking that owning the car impresses total strangers. The rest of us realize that owning the car doesn't really say that much about you, and that it is a car. Not a statement on your life or something irreplaceable.
On the plus side, tuning out the I-have-a-Corvette-so-RESPEK-MY-AUTHORITAY! folks makes threads quicker to read.

For safety reasons the Japanese back into parking spots.
The truth is, if we all did this in the US, far fewer kids would get run over by people (mostly their own parents) backing out of their garages and driveways.
The visibility out of every car/suv/truck is better, often much better out the front.
So its better to hit kids while you are backing into the space?

Same thing happens to me no matter how far away from the store I park someone just has to park along side of me
Whoa, you took ~4 spaces judging by your picture. Can't say I'd recommend doing that anywhere.
I don't do that. That draws too much attention to the car. As we can see in the post, the owner didn't get 30 yards away before the car had an audience. I recommend parking in the boondocks in single space on the end...in a good area (probably not Walmart). Covering the car is even better.
Thank god, we are not driving a Lambo or Ferrari...actually we would not be driving anywhere
The other day I parked next to an R8 Audi at Ingles (food store) and I wonder if he went on the Audi forum and complained some low life with a Corvette parked next to him with hundreds of other spaces around

did anyone take a pic of you taking a pic of him taking a pic of your car?
