to all those concerned about people parking next to their vette. LEAVE IT HOME! if i cruise i make sure that i don't stop anywhere that means parking it unless i stay with the car. like when i go to dq for ice cream i go to the drive thru.
Paranoia is setting in if you don't take your vette if you have to park somewhere?
Heaven forbid if you park a mile away from where your going, and someone has the nerve to park near you. Last time I checked, it is still a free country. It's OK to carry a loaded handgun in your car, but it's not OK for someone to park next to your precious car.
Everyone is in their spot and pretty centered at that, no idea what your issue is with this. When they're on top of you in a vacant lot is when you have a legitimate gripe IMO. I've had that once in a Walmart parking lot and was fuming. Waited for the gentleman to come out to have a little talk about it. I realize in the real world you are going to get chips/scratches on anything you own that is left out of your sight no matter how careful you are with it. Either you come to that realization or you don't use your car for its intended purpose.

WOW!!!!
I knew sooner or later we'd get the "it's a free country" line.
You're missing the point! If a C7 owner (or any car owner) decides to park "a mile" away from everyone else and someone deliberately parks in the spot right next to them, when there are hundreds of other spaces closer to the entrance, then IT"S NOT ABOUT the C7 OWNER, it's about the person who selected that spot, when they had hundreds of other selections.
If they parked a foot away, then we know their intentions were malicious. If they parked at a reasonable distance in the spot next to you, it is more difficult to determine their intentions.
The fact we live in a free country is beside the point. We can't just go throwing that at every scenario.
Here is a business product idea! Someone invent an inflatable tube that we can hang next to our cars. One side with soft padding(our car side) and the outside with sandpaper!!(or nails-their car)
Even with my '02 I try to park "far" from the rest, but it never helps!

Reason: spelling
If anyone parks any nice vehicle far away and someone parks next to it ..... normally .... that's fine! But when they park so close you can't open a door?.......It's not about being "A free country" That is all I was trying to point out?

I had those, on my Jeep, they are called rock rails. They are cheaply painted 1" round 3/16" thick mild steel tubes. It would bring a little smile to my face every tinm I would see a chip in the paint on the side, knowing someone swung their door open on it and messed up their own car
Probably wouldnt look too good on a vette though but it sure would save the rockers as well as door ding protection
I suggest that you go buy and old junky, beat up pickup and drive it anytime you plan to go out and park in a public parking lot, and leave your vette at home. What is there to be accomplished by complaining? you can change what you do, but you are not going to change the actions of others.

Some jerk park his crappy old Chrysler literally 1 foot from my C6 back in 2007. I was parked way out away from all cars, but between the white lines, and the lot was 95% empty. He parked there in a obvious attempt to try to **** me off.
When I got back to my car and saw the stunt he pulled I proceeded to POUR MY FULL HOT CUP OF COFFEE ALL OVER HIS WINDSHIELD AND HOOD, then drove off. I'm guessing he didn't pull that stunt on anyone else after that.
Please tell me this is a joke, and you didn't really ruin someone's day, and cost them money to repair a tire, just because they were "too close for comfort" to your precious Chevrolet.
If it was this...

You poured hot coffee on a crappy old Chrysler then ran away.
Some people would say that is so Corvette! Actually, maybe more Camaro than Corvette. Anyway, you get the idea.
some of you people are worse than your so called offenders. pouring coffee or whatever on someones vehicle is childish just because they park so close. i think you people are idiots to park in "public" parking areas. if you can't afford a clunker to drive then maybe you should just stay home. i would never think of taking my vette to a walmart or lowes because "we know" how people are today. no consideration whatsoever. it was the same way back in the 70's. when i had my 67 big block i bought a used pick up truck for my dd.
I was surprised recently when, on a motorcycle forum's Off Topic area, a young guy posted a note that he and his wife were hiring a nanny for their child. As the thread unfolded, it turned out the guy had inherited some money.
The number of people that swooped in to criticize and rail on this guy was amazing. Many replies referenced how hard They worked, how much better parents they were, etc. I thought it was pathetic that so many people were unhappy with their life and spent so much time resenting others. Its up to 1400 replies a/of now.
The point is, I think its pretty sad when people make it a point to "show" you they're just as good as you are.

The coffee thing happened. GET OVER IT. How about we park our cars wherever we decide and YOU stop the childish act of calling people "idiots" just because they're not doing what you would do?

Turn in your Corvette card!
You broke a cardinal tenet of Corvette ownership - NEVER eat in the car! Especially not sticky, gooey things like ice cream!
