So the C7 doesn't blip the throttle on downshifts? Really?

Do some research for yourself... there are a lot of automatics that blip the throttle on downshifts... lots. Explain the nonsense please?

Unless you have driven one.... You should refrain from making comments.... The A6 in the C7 definitely rev matches for both up and down shifts. PERIOD!

Really?
Then name one automatic transmission/torque converter that has rev matching.
Go ahead - name it!

The auto in the G37 blips the throttle on downshifts. The MCT in the C63 (it isn't a true DCT) also blips the throttle on downshifts. Need more?

Check out this review of the Aston Martin and its auto... read 4 paragraphs in... http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evoc...uchtronic.html

Shifts are swift and sure and it does a lovely job of rev matching on the way down through the gears.
There lots of autos that blip the throttle on downshifts... I have owned 2 of them. There are videos on YouTube of 335s doing this. I'm not sure why you think it isn't possible or isn't something these cars do?

First of all - that's what a torque converter is designed to do without having to "blip" the throttle. That's what DCT's are all about. By the way - MCT is a dual clutch transmission - hence not torque converter.
That is why many are dissapointed that corvette did not swithch from a torque converter to dual clutch systems.
OK?

Just an update, my local dealer sent out a technician today to my home to look over the car. We were able to duplicate what I was describing twice and he agrees that something is definitely wrong. They are sending a flatbed out on the 2nd to pick up the car.

I debated whether or not to respond to some of the lame responses my post received. At first I didn’t want to entertain some of the useless comments, but I felt the need to call out one person in particular. I have to say this forum is beginning to resemble more and more of an all-girls high school where some jealous girls try and put down or ridicule anything that is asked or posted here. For me, a fourm such as this is intended to share information and gain insight into issues we all have or may experience with our automobiles. For someone such as “pgway” to assume he is an expert on something and rather than have an intelligent discussion on the topic, he resorts to calling me “Stupid” or even accusing me of not owning a C7 like it is some big deal to have one. What made me change my mind to respond was a post someone else listed earlier yesterday whereby they asked if anyone would be interested in the C7 having front and rear parking assist? Someone who is just as a smart a$$ as “pgway” posted “If you need parking assist you don't deserve to drive a corvette.” Really?!!! I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m really getting tired of this type of crap. To those moderators out there, maybe we could have a sub-category under each corvette type dedicated for “A$$bags”. That way we can have all of them corralled in one area.

As for you “pgway” I debated on responding to your post about me through a private message, but decided to slap you around here out in public view. Sorry to disappoint you, but I do indeed own a C7, along with several high end “Sports cars” as I have documented below. I’m not the type of person to flaunt what I have, but when someone calls me out like you did, I felt the need to pull down your lace panties and spank you in front of everyone here. As you can see, my collection here in New Orleans consists of my new C7 (Blade Silver), 2014 Nissan GT-R, 2009 Lamborghini Gallardo and 2013 Prosche 911. At this point we will not include my collection at my Utah home, but if you like, I can send you pictures of those also.

If being “Stupid” got me everything that I have obtained in this life, I’m grateful and should be categorized as “F’ing stupid”. As for you, I would ask one thing. Seeing that you are so proud of obtaining your C7 and like to flaunt your expertise, PLEASE post some of your other “Toys” so that you can impress us all.

Pgway….. Impress me!

Impress me!!!!!!!!!

Well... my next question would have been:

How does the C7 drive in comparison to your other toys ?
But... broken C7

What the heck do you do for a living ?

Default Hostile comments

As the OP stated in post #26 there 'IS' an issue with the car and the dealer is bringing it back in for repair. The hostile/negative posts here have no contribution toward this being a forum for enthusiasts and C7 owners to give their experiences and/or seek help/advice.

Let's stay on track with the original post and following developments.

Personal attacks/hostility toward others
The Forum should be a place where we treat one another with civility so that it remains a fun and friendly place to hang around with other Corvette enthusiasts. Hostility to others is rude and inappropriate.

Personal attacks cannot be tolerated. Attack ideas, not fellow Forum members.

The MCT transmission is NOT a dual clutch. It is a traditional auto with a wet startup clutch in place of the torque converter but it is NOT a dual clutch. I owned one and don't really need the lesson on it

Having a torque converter doesn't preclude the throttle blip to aid in quicker downshifts but thanks for your comments in any event

floraneg, are you aware of this from another postor? (in case you were in track mode)

"If the OP is operating an Automatic C7 in Tr-track mode & manually shifting the gears, it won't shift anything for you EXCEPT if he puts the vehicle close to doing internal damage to the engine, trans, or other systems. This could be even worse, if he entered into any of the Performance Driving Modes."

in other words, in track mode you have to shift using the paddle switches.

whoops, I didn't see that you said you were able to duplicate the problem twice with the technician, so will be interested to see what the issue was.

What a nice collection of whips ! Wowzee !!

I hope and expect that Chevy will solve your transmission issue soon. When you get your Stingray back, I and the Forum would love to hear how it compares with your other rides - the good, the bad and the ugly. I suspect your experience is unique with all these nice rides and could settle a lot of "mine's bigger" debates.

Thanks and Happy New Year !!

Thanks Moe.

As you say, they all have their own positives and negatives. The real collection is in Utah at my other home. There I have a 2013 Lamborghini Aventador (White with Black rims), 2012 Ferrari 458 Italia (Red of course), 2013 Mclaren MP4-12C (Volcano Orange), 2013 Corvette ZR1 (Cyber Grey), 1957 Corvette (Red with red interior) and my pride and joy, 2011 Bugatti (Bugatti Dark Blue with silver interior) It truly is a stunning automobile.

I traded my 2005 Yellow C6 in on my GT-R about two months ago after seeing it on the showroom floor. I wasn't a fan of the C7 design until I saw it in person about three weeks ago. The rear really bothered me, but I must say, it really is stunning in person. So, I pulled the trigger. I was leaning toward AW, but after seeing the Blade Silver in person, I went for it.

I'll do a write up on all of the toys I have at some point but if I had to pick just one, I would have to go with the ZR1. For what you get for the price, it is very hard to beat, except the looks the Aventador gets!

Happy New Year to you.
