So I'm brand new to the Corvette forum, and I wanted to start with a simple question to get the lay of the land, and get some of the great members on here talking.
Why do you love Corvette?
For me - I love that Corvettes were once driven by astronauts - the ultimate explorers and adventurers into the unknown.
I remember being 13 and being blown away by a ruby red 40th C4 on the streets. I always thought they were so cool but so hard to get as my parents never had that kind of money. I currently own a C7 and C3. At this point in my life, I like to be able to get into a machine that is very fast and glides around the roads with ease(C7 that is).I like the my 427 68 because of the history.
Because my Dad took me to first grade in a 1968 Vert with the top down. The Cathoilic kids in the recess yard were in awe. My Dad always had a Vette and I fell in love. Even though he is gone, I have a great gift and memories !

Me too, its in the blood. Great memories of Sunday drives with my dad (in my mind they were all sunny days). I continue the tradition. With some kids, that V8 engine rumble just sinks in and resonates for life.
I don't love Corvette. I've tried many times in the past and it just didn't do it for me.
I love the C7 which is why I'm buying one. You couldn't give me an earlier model, even a classic. The only ones I would consider still have chrome bumpers but I would not pay today's prices for them.
hmmm, the looks, the technology, the way it handles around curves, the power when you hit the gas, the history, the wave, the passion of it's owners, but most of all the fun they bring to your life in social, personal and public settings.
I loved all the Vettes till the C7. I really dont care for the new ones. For me, the Corvette is the ultimate american sports car. They were cheap enough so that a middle class person could purchase brand new, and had the power and performance to hang with cars that cost 100,000 or more.
I never have been a big fan of corvettes until the C7 was designed. It was an immediate homerun in my opinion, and just struck my fancy. Still adjusting to some things, and being tall doesn't help with the limited seat adjustment...always had sportscars with back seats so could adjust the seat if needed. But, a great car thus far.

For me I don't care for anything prior to a C5. These are more appealing to me mainly because of the ride quality. I want to drive my car and drive it to work daily.
When I get into the car it's like a transformation. No matter what is going on at home, at work whatever.......... sounds corny but it is like that "calgon" moment. Everything changes when I close the door. Some trips I take in silence and just soak it all in.
I am blessed to have had the last 3 generations and don't not take that lightly.
Next reason is the fellow car nuts. This forum, the museum, GM interfacing with us, Carlislle, etc.
Last is my local Corvette club. The friendships, the trips the events........ way beyond the car.
So it is a total package. I just do not believe you experiece all of that with any other car brand.
When I saw the movie "Heavy Metal" an animated sci fi flick and the astronaut comes out of a space shuttle in a 58 vette then reentered the atmosphere then opened a parachute right after he hit the earth then drove off. TOO FREAKN COOL.
1st , I'm a diehard owner of all things "GM" and my love for the Corvette was matured in 2009 with my first Corvette purchase of a Z06. It represented to me the best in American Muscle and having toured the NCM prior to purchase, convinced me that the builders put as much pride in building one, as I had in owning one.. Unfortunately, I had a short run with the Z06 because as a year later, I sold it to get my 1st Camaro.
I'm confident to write, that I won't be giving up my next C7 as it will be a permanent part of my BowTie collection that I will pass down to my son.
