I had one for my Passport 9500 that used an existing visor mount screw and I loved it there. I'm going to see if I can adapt it to fit my C7 when it arrives

Ken,
Let us know how that works.... I am having the same problem.
e.b.
However, if there is no way to plug the radar detector into the mirror, what are we gonna do? dangle the cord from the power socket all the way to the mirror?
Great Lakes has one that I tested as well (V1 version but he has it for Escort too). Works very nicely. I ran the wire under the trim along the top of the windshield and down the A pillar. Looks very clean with hardly any wire exposed.

Now, this sounds promising. Can we get some photos of the install?

There are several threads about routing the wire behind trim..
Then again, I am not convinced it is not possible to take power from the mirror but I will need to investigate that further once I receive my car. (I hear that circuit is protected by a 3 amp fuse. My Passport only pulls a measured 220 ma so we shall see)

Thanks...
Here ya go:
There's not much else to show as you can't see any wiring anywhere else. The EZ pass came in handy to keep the wire tight against the mirror base as I routed it under the it between the Velcro strips. I also painted the EZ pass with black plastidip to blend into the trim. By the way, those scratches that you see in the dot matrix around the edge of windshield wipe right off. They were just scuffs from my nails and the trim tool while trying to tuck the wire.
