I was extremely pleased with the outcome and simplicity of the Pfadt Racing performance tune. For the DIY Stingray owner, this item was super simple with impressive results. Would definitely like to pair this with a CAI as well to see what kind of gains could be achieved...
Are the power gains really noticeable when driving the car? Im thinking of getting either thus tune or the diablo.leaning towards this one bucause of the free trial offer...but on the diablo you coyld keep updating it and even use it in different cars..what do you think.looks like you're pleased with the results. .
Just remember to throw your warranty paper work for your powertrain in the garbage, unfortunately gm will void your warranty if and when they find out. I'm all about mods and such but for those that don't know sometimes find out the hard way. Unless your willing to foot the bill if a catastrophe was to happen I would be careful. I guess my feelings about this Come from the z06 head debacle that gm screwed up on. Hopefully the new engine design is really bullet proof as it should be and non of this would matter. Anyway, I've used the diablo tuner, it's pretty good. It's basic , but I would say its not a bad place to start.
Plate is Blonc7...are you putting a kit on the car too? I have the plate blownC7..lol
Ahh, very good eye there bro! Correct you are. ECS/Novi kit should be here in about 2 weeks. More on that soon...
Good job getting the 7 character plate! We had BLONC6 on the previous car, so just kept the tradition alive with BLONC7. Which blower did you decide to go with?

If you're up in arms about THIS voiding the warranty, you're gonna stroke with what's next....LOL
The GM shop manager is fully aware of the intentions with the car from day 1, so no surprises on this end man...

Since I'll let you try it for free, you can find out for yourself
The Pfadt tuning system will work for other cars that we support as well, C6 vetts, Cadillac ATS, 5th Gen Camaro, and several other platforms that we are currently working on.
The free Pfadt Tuning system supports data logging to validate your specific tune on your specific car as well. Expect the most reliable, most exciting, DIY tune on the market. To make things even better its a 100% try before you buy offer. Install it, run it, and if you like it, buy it in 30 days. Otherwise, just return it
All I want is a tune that allows removal of the cylinder de-activation system. And then a simple lightweight cat-back stainless-steel exhaust system goes on the car. A tune for a low restriction exhaust system would probably be a richer air/fuel ratio.
Those canned tunes are usually a leaner air/fuel ratio but combined with advanced ignition timing. And the valve timing can be advanced. Obviously, it's a combination that can work.
I might tune the exhaust system with an HKS AFR. With that I can go richer without doing anything else. Generally speaking, the exhaust needs a richer air/fuel ratio if it is popping.
Oh, I found the Diablosport I-1000 inTune device. It can disable the cylinder de-activation system and adjust the air-fuel ratio. But I have not tested it yet

im not up in arms, I worked for a Chevrolet dealer long enough to know how how warranty claims are dealt with. If it were up to the shop manager you would be ok, but its not up to him. im not looking to have a pissing match with you, I was actually trying to save you some grief.LOL

Just curious, do those with a tune flash back to the stock settings before bringing the car into the dealer for work or what?
I'm assuming that GM can see that it was flashed at some point when pulling up the diagnostic history...true or false?

I would also like to know. Can I switch back to stock before bringing it in for service? Is it even worth switching back to stock or can my dealer know I tuned it either way?

dude I have had handhelds in my last 4 rides, I have never had a problem ever, but yes if you go back to gm for service, return to stock settings, because if they run a update on your ecu you will have issues, I went w Trenity because if I go to track I don't want to carry a laptop w me. Both tunes a great but if the canned tune is not aggressive enough, custom tuners, can do a cmr tune that will get more power, canned tunes are good ,custom tunes are great for when you start adding more mods ex, headers cams, heads, exhaust ect...by the way I had my DS. Trenity on my last ride,(392 chally) so it was a leftover mod ,FREE,that's what is nice.
