I placed my order for my Z51 package on Oct.4th and Iam still at "1100" and was told yesterday by my dealer he has "no clue" as to when I will get the car. He said I may not even get one and may end up with a 2015.
It is very simple - your dealer is LIEING to you. Every dealer knows their allocations and when they are to be sequenced. If he is telling you he doesn't know and may not get you a car until 2015, he has no allocation and is likely trying to get another dealer who does to order the car for him and split the profit.
Anyone can "take" an order - hell, I'll take your order and throw in the Brooklyn Bridge at delivery too - and you are just as likely to get your Z51 from me as the dealer you ordered from.
How can you just place your order and a week later move to "2000"????? I placed my order for my Z51 package on Oct.4th and Iam still at "1100" and was told yesterday by my dealer he has "no clue" as to when I will get the car. He said I may not even get one and may end up with a 2015. This is the absolute "craziest" thing I have ever seen. Iam getting very disgusted with how GM is handling this. It should be "first come first served" not who is the biggest kid on the block so he comes first.
Not GM handling it. It's how your dealer with out an allocation is not telling you the truth. Ask The Dealer how many allocations he has? Ask if he has sent anyone to learn how to work on the car or bought the tools.
Its on a Who (dealer) bought corvettes in 2012, and how many. That who gets cars now. Dealer is the customer to GM. You are a customer to the dealer.

Seems like people in this situation really don't want to believe they are being lied to.....and they are......
Sad to say, put you are correct. Went down that road in 2001 with a GMC diesel truck, learned 6 months later dealer had no allocation and would not get an allocation.
I've owned 6 Corvettes. I have priced the new C7 and the dealers I tried buying from were simply asking too much money. I almost gave up but i thought I would try one more dealer. I wound up going to Phillips Chevy in Frankfort Illinois. They were THOUSANDS of dollars cheaper than any dealer. I would up ordering A 2014 C7, 1LT with automatic transmission. The manager said it might take 8-10 weeks for the car to arrive. Keep looking for deals. They are out there if you keep looking.

When you are that far out, tell them to prove it......
