Feelin' for you guys. I lived in Michigan for 40 years, but it's been in the 70's all month in southern AZ.
I left MI in 1981, shortly after I turned 18 for 3 reasons
1. No Jobs
2. Winter sucked
3. Joined the Navy
Been in east TN since I retired from the Navy. Had to move from Jacksonville FL to TN as I needed hilly roads with lots of curves from my Motorcycle addiction This is the worst winter I have seen here since 2001 when I move here.
This winter is so bad the last weekend I could only drive my Corvette in my driveway. It is so bad that when I take pictures snow shows in the background. This picture was taken on a good day. One of the few that we have had. See the snow in the background. See the salt on the driveway from my daily driver that sets in my driveway.
I really can't wait until spring and I don't even have my C7 yet! I would be going completely insane if I just got my C7 and had to endure this winter at the same time.
I'm with you. I started it just to hear it running, pulled it out on the apron for a few minutes to let it idle and warm up, then pulled it back in the garage and put the cover back on it.
No offense but there isn't a hill anywhere in Florida, a lot of flat roads and swamps. I can live with 4 months of winter to be able to hop in my car and be on great roads right out my back door.
Speak for yourself. I would trade 4-5 months of sh!tty weather for flat roads in an instant. Right out my garage is some of the finest roads a car enthusiast can find (Frederick, MD) but I would gladly trade it in a heart beat for 24/7 60+ degree weather year round. We have a place just outside of Sarasota, FL that we go to a few weeks out of the winter but still that isn't enough for me. I 100% ******* hate winter but unfortunately am not in a position yet where I can be in FL 6 months and MD the other 6.
42" since Dec. and another 7" coming tomorrow. Brutal, they're running out of salt and winter's barely half over. That's probably a good thing as the roads are destroyed.
My car arrived at the dealership Wednesday and was going to pick it up tomorrow. Now they're forecasting a small blizzard in Chicago tomorrow morning!!
Looks like I'll be waiting until next Saturday as my work schedule doesn't allow picking it up next week. If the anticipation doesn't kill me first.
Worst winter in WI I can ever remember. Don't think we've gone more than a day or two up here without snow!
great post. obviously up to forum intellectual standards. good luck with summer.

I think you guys need to stop complaining. You don't even know what winter is like where you guys live. Heck, one day last week our high temperature for the day was minus 16 degrees (F) below zero with a low of -26 !! This snow ain't going to melt until May the way this winter is going.

Or you can live in New York by the city, have the terrible winter, AND have nothing but traffic, red lights every 10 feet and stop signs every 5 feet to drive the car in once the summer comes around

I have to agree that Sarasota is a very nice area. My daughter was married at The Longboat Key Club and we had a great time. But as previously stated there are no hills...awesome trees and real grass like we have up north. I hate sand and heat/humidity so the north is perfect for me. I do think about my GS in storage but mostly when reading this forum...otherwise I have winter stuff to do...Tomorrow our snowmobile club meeting is at 11am and we NEED more snow...Anyone with a Vette loves acceleration and handling...well snowmobiling is a sport you would really enjoy with an additional benefit of some super scenery and
wildlife

Going to see mine at the dealer again today where it's been nice and warm since 12/11, but I am anxious to get her home. Come on spring time.

GLOBAL WARMING MY A$$.It's just a waste of life in the northeast.Unless your snowmobiling, skying, skating or delivering heating oil your board.Just turn on the electric blanket and the wife too

You gotta be a sadist to live there (lol) OTOH I bet that nice house you have cost a fraction of what it would have cost in a normal climate. Unfortunately Corvettes cost the same no matter where you live.
