Supposedly that 8 speed auto is only going to be on the Z06 versions, not on the Stingray until 2016.
Cyber Gray and Velocity Yellow are gone for 2015.
Cyber Gray, yes.
Velocity Yellow, that's a question mark. The C7 product manager, when presented with a question about the new yellow at a presentation in Daytona, indicated he wasn't aware of a change to Yellow, only the new "Shark" Gray which will replace Cyber Gray.
I am surprised there is no sticky about 2015 confirmed changes. This may be of value for some that are deciding between a 2014 and 2015.
This is what we know.
1. 2 new colours - grey and yellow
2. 4G OnStar and Apps
3. PDR Performance Data Recorder
4. 8 speed automatic
5. Z06 model to be available
Please add to this list as items are announced.
According to Tadge J. the Stingray will stick with the A6.2 until (at least) 2016. I think this is driven by the CAFE regulations more than anything else.
BTW, according to Snorman (the fastest C7 pilot on the Forum), there are NO parts in the C7 A6.2 forward of the planetary gearsets that are common with the A6.0 and A6.1 used in the C6. It weighs 8.15 #'s LESS than than the C6 autos and, as many of use suspected, it is itself, essentially a new transmission. I suspect its "front end" may continue on as the front end of the new A8.

My theory is they may just be seeing what kind of feedback they get from the customer base and decided to keep/change the color based on the response. Just my 2 cents
ps In case GM is watching, I Love Velocity Yellow. Millennium, Rally, etc, just dont do it for me
From what I have read, the reason the A8 is not going into the Stingray in 2015 is the amount of software calibration it requires for each specific platform. They are devoting that time to get it calibrated for the Z06 and then they will work on the calibration for the Stingray.
Glad they got rid of cyber grey, looked good under the car show lights but didn't impress me at all after seeing one is person. Shark grey looks good so far

That sounds like a very well prepared excuse created by someone in public relations. Why can't they do both at the same time? You drive the car on a track and gather telemetry. Analyze, update parameters, and repeat until satisfied with the results. Once you have it working transmission and 98% programmed, there can't be that much "tuning" involved in it.
